why is it more expensive/harder to do a good mix studio?

I mean, a good "mix studio" to me would be just a really nicely setup control room with good acoustics?

unless when they say "mix studio" they mean the amount of gear involved etc?

a lot harder than " just " makes it look

theres the George Augsperger factor, among other things :)

Once you study enough acoustics theory to realize how many seemingly innocuous things can screw up a sound field, and then you STILL try to set up the ergonomics of your mix area so that EVERYTHING is at eye/ear level and EVERYTHING is within arms' length and that EVERY cable is short and neatly dressed and EVERY chair has a perfect sound field and you can still squeeze 10 people into the control room and NOT further screw up the sound, all of a sudden "just" becomes a forgotten word... And that is exactly what I'm going to do in my little old bedroom studio. Foam it to death. Look out reverb, here we come:D :D Btw, what thread was that. I search every forum here to read what you have to say.
