Gents:
I'm curious if anyone knows the in's & out's of touch-screen interfaces for controlling DAW software. I know Slate has just released some crazy-expensive touch control surfaces for use with their proprietary software, but that's WAY out of my price range and I'm fairly certain it is not compatible with my main DAW, Reason 8.
I'm wondering if I can just buy a normal touchscreen monitor from BestBuy or TigerDirect and use it with my DAW, or if I have to buy a dedicated unit specifically designed for this purpose. I consider myself a pretty big computer geek (I build all my own systems from scratch and can also write code in a few different languages), but this is an area with which I have very little experience.
