The sound input through the aux from my synth workstation to my SoundBlaster Live soundcard seems to be making the speakers on the majority of systems (not on my monitors) 'sing' and the lows 'sub' in places when I play my burned cds. I checked all my levels and watched the meters keeping a constant level in the yellow of SoundForge (0 to 3.1 db). I can't understand it. I sampled at 48khz initially then downsampled to 44.1khz. Is that the problem? Compressing and EQ don't seem to be of much help. I tried various volumes and the phenomena still occures. I have the volume of my workstation all the way up which places the 'rec' level at about 33% in my SB mixer.
HELP PLEASE! This is driving me crazy! Do I have to rerecord and mix at 44.1?
Oh yes, also some of the sound 'samples' that I added to the mix also seem to make the speakers 'sing' on the highs. The wave level in the program is below -60.

Thank you everyone!
