Ok, so I assume you're tapping signal from the inserts if I remember correctly how the 808 is set up, nothing wrong with that. With the dynamic mics like 57s 58s etc, running the channel gains at around 10-12 o' clock and then bringing your input trim on the interface up to where your peaks are bouncing up around the 0vu mark (probably around -18) and anywhere in a +/- 6db or so range from there should put you in the ballpark of a unity gain structure. If you have hot condensors you'd want to back off the gain on the mixer channels a bit on them.

It's been a while since I messed with an 808, did some live recording with one few years ago, and I'm an old man with a fuzzy memory so I hope I'm remembering the settings right.
