Alright, let’s agree to disagree. The only reason made reference to my degrees is to set myself apart from all the generic "homies from the streets" that have had less than a high school education trying to emulate other OGs who treat rap like a urinal.
You've misinterpreted my usage of the word intellectual.

I love threads like this, I usually get a kick out of reading opinionated threads, it's cool to see everyones opinions on whatever the topic may be. No ones right, no ones wrong and a lot of times you see people who are debating in the same thread helping a fellow home recorder with useful information. With that being said...

I feel those remarks were totally uncalled for and extremely offensive, if that's your gods honest opinion I'm sorry you feel that way but there should be no room in a home recording forum for racial attacks, harsh joke or not. I'm sure you can find a better suited forum online, google is a great tool when looking for topic specific forums.

I just finished having a long debate with my first client, a 17 year old "MC" from Columbus. Basiclally my argument was that while hip hop is outselling every other genre combined, it is not the "quality" that is selling.

Look at guys like Young Joc, Paul Wall, David Baqnner ;)

artistically, its crap. Its like all the guys trying for the elvis sound after he borke (Little John being Elvis)

whereas stellar MCs who truly make hip hop an art form, like Mos Def, Talib Kwalei (i thinked i fucked the name up) and KRSone sell next to nothing. Faggy Rob Thomas outsells them.

His argument was can i buy him some beer.

He won :mad:
