I liked the song. Good job of writing whoever it was. Well maybe on the music anyway. I couldn't make sense of the words. Either poor writing or a stupid reviewer :D. Probably the latter.

Many pitch and synching issues on the vocals. Half a drum fill at 1:03. Either do it or don't I'd say.

Good song, good recording, fair (at best) execution. 'cept the rhythm guitar.

thanks guys...

last thing is still just the mastering...any tips on how to make this warmer? or at the least, less raw? what are my key freaquencies to play with to get that garage sound out of here.

hey, im glad you got the delta 44. Its definitely the improvement in sound you needed from the time i heard "Lights Out". I hear what people mean by raw. There isn't much in the way of reverb or compression. but what means raw is bad?

I think for the age/equipment/type of music it conveys whats needed. The snare and kick form the groove. For guitars next time, try actually using less gain so the signal is cleaner, this can help with making the guitar lines more defined. Not so the guitar is clean, but so you can tell that there are actually 3 strings being hit on a power chord, not this abstract "rrrrrrrrrrr" sound. That could help with sound.

Technique makes a big difference as well. I noticed the drummer not hittingwith style sometimes. This makes the cymbals sound like pots and pans sometimes.

I hope you record another version of lights out with the new equipment. I'll be ready to hear that.

i forgot to add that it sounds like you don't have a pop filter and you are trying to have the mic far away in a position that keeps it from popping. If that is the case get a pop filter and experiment with that. You can get good sounds without a pop filter, depending on the sound you are going for. If you were using a pop filter and the guy was singing in close, i would recommend some discussion on mic technique. certain distances that he can move to and from the desired point. that should help vocal sounds a lot.
