What does it mean when you have six input's and eight are showing up? Where are they duplicating, from the card
or in the program? Thanks. I'm using cubase sx with two
delta 44s. :(

Could it be possible that the two extra inputs are actually a sub-mix of all of the inputs?

Hmmm

All I can do is take a stab in the dark here .... as I have Nuendo and a MOTU 828mkII, but I believe SX is quite similar.
In Nuendo .... I would click Devices and VST Connections. Look under the Inputs tab for the extra Inputs. Not sure what they will be called for the Delta's, but for the MOTU they are called Mix1 1 and Mix1 2. If they don't show up in the VST Connections, you haven't set up an Input Bus that uses them. If they are there .... click on the Bus name (be it a Stereo Bus or two Mono Busses) to Highlight that Bus name. Now right click that highlighted Bus's name and select Remove Bus.
It can be handy to have that sub-mix bus sometimes. You never know when you may capture the perfect mix of all the Inputs.
If you never intend to use the sub-mix bus, you can go to Devices\Device Setup\VST Inputs .... find those sub-mix Inputs and set them to not be visible. Of course you can always go back and change it when needed.
