Cheezy? No Way!!

Erland, you are the Magic man. How do you do it?

I love this song!!!!! The harmonies are beautiful (just how many are there of you anyway ;) ?) Wonderful message too. For such a gentle song it pulls one to think.

As always, superb job!

good one! Nothing bothered me at all.. great harmonies too..

Looks like youve nailed it. the overall sound is perfect for the content!!! which btw is excellent

ooooh man, Great all around. Everthing is just right IMO which gives it strength. I really enjoyed it. Got to play it for my wife!

Hey Erland, another nice song. You sure do churn them out. It is a bit cliche, but what's wrong with that?

You must have enough songs for a double album. I'm just curious, are you sending into record cos. or anything like that? Are you gonna form a band? Do you want to be a pop star?!

Btw, a couple weeks ago, I wrote a little (wee) song in your style, (even attempting to sing like you), maybe if I get around to finishing it (can't seem to finish anything these days), I'll post it up (if I have the courage).

Anyway, good job.

I think this is a beautiful song, your voice is mint so is your guitar playing and lyrics. I can see why people speak so highly of you.
Kind of reminds me of Jethro Tull which is always a good thing. The only thing I didnt particularly care for was the ending "you got to wake up" over and over again.. and theres no real basis to that opinion, just struck me funny.

The recording is beautiful.

i guess this is what it's all about right? home recording....point and shoot? you just have such good aim.

as always, ace my friend!

we can all learn from you erland. it's like my good friend who is a trained studio engineer always tells me, never forget about the source, it's more important than any microphone or preamp or black box, etc.

nice job. this is wonderful.

Enough asskissing :) :

There seems to be some low rumble in the recording (at 0:19 for instance). It sounds like it's below 30Hz....kinda makes me quite feel nauseated when listening to it with headphones :)

Any idea what it could be?

Erland, you just got another fan.....

Man I'm blown away by your tunes.

Great work!

I don't care if it's cliche or not my friend, your stuff always pleases the ear. Man, you never miss!

wowsers

you guys really are tip top! sorry for not replying pronto.

Hi chrisharris, short and sweet.

Hey Langley, I am happy you checked this one out. Very very nice words. thankyou.

Sam, glad it sat well with you and to know your having a wee listen.

RichHead, cheers mate.

Pedullist. woohoo, you the man...thanks.

wfaraoni. I nailed it, fantastic. Thanks for checking it out.

Dude Watyf, Suerte.

Smokepole, thats really nice of you to say. Say hi to the wife and thanks mate.

Hi macle, yup a little cliche seems to sit well. Thanks for your time and nice words bro. I am still in Spain and have two months left of study, after that I have the big wide world of choices a head of me. Time to please the parents and get a job. I havnºt sent anything to record companies plus I wouldnt fit into the perfect slots they disire these days. I would love to meet someone else who plays the guitar and we could just write, record and play live together. It would be one amazing experience for me, we could bouce off eachother. I dream of that. Anyway, enough blah from me, bring it on.

Hi demensia, I really appreciate that, thanks for listening. I seem to do a melody and fit words around it. I suppose the end is just a wake up call. Anyway, thanks for the kind words and ears.

Hello eric, thats my philosophy too, if you can hum a song or you catch someone humming your song then thats the thing. I do want a good sound though and the better the setup then perhaps the easier it is to get what is closest to your ear. thanks again man.

Well sjcrts, with comments like that i will keep them coming. Thank you for listening mate.

powderfinger. Great mate. Picking aint too hot really though.

Hi twist. touch wood, next one will surly not sit well. Thanks again Twist.

I really like the tune ..... of course MOST of my stuff is cliche (LOL). In any case, this one's making my car-CD that is a collection of songs I truly enjoy from this BBS.

I especially like the bg vox. They sound very cool. I'd personally like to hear them hotter in the mix. In fact, it seems a bit more compression overall is in order. The entire recording sounds .... on the thin side (?). I can't put my finger on it. Keep in mind I'm listening from work on headphones. I'll check it out again tonight from home.

I was initially reminded of Fleetwood Mac's "Landslide" - but just until the lyrics started.

I have some questions because I'm currently working on a finger-picking tune too.

Q: What brand guitar did you use and how did you mic it? I don't hear a bit of fret noise which I seem to get overwhelmed with when I record my Taylor.

Q: What was your vocal mic?

Again - good song. Listening as I type. LOVING THOSE BG VOX !!!

Very nice song and very good arrangement of the harmonies, especially towards the end. I like when someone has put a lot of thought into backing vocals as you clearly have here. I am listening at work so take with a grain of salt, but I wanted to hear the guitar louder. I couldn't pick out any of the parts. The vocals sounded a tad on their own. This song would be great with a low cello part. Got one lying around?
