the first time I ever actually play "Free Bird" on stage ... and it will be while playing with Artimus Pyle. Ha!

go ahead on beagle! Let us know how it comes out. What else will you be playing?

The show was quite the event. :) The place was this small cafe/music venue -- held a few hundred people at most. Apparently, Artimus's truck had broken down near the place a few months ago when he was en route to another gig, and the venue owner helped him get back on the road. So he was playing this show at a discounted rate in return. (The band each made $200. I don't know what Artimus made.)

Artimus was a really nice guy and very generous and kind. We played a bunch of cover tunes and about 6 or 7 Skynryd tunes, including "That Smell" (which I sang), "SHA," and "Free Bird" as the closer. It was a good time, and hopefully I'll be playing more with him soon.

Your kidding right???? That song is so long their will not be enough time to do anything else. I love Skynryd, but I think that song is about an hour longer then it should be. As for Mr. Beagle, I hope that you enjoyed yourself.

Hey, famous beagle...is that you, Earl?

It's not Earl, but it's the other guitar player in the Matt Dylan band. :) My name's Chad. But yes, this was the same Artimus gig that Earl played at too.

Earl posted it on his FB yesterday or day before. I thought that was a bit coincidental. Heard your CD release make up date went well.
Nice to see somebody doing well around these parts.

For what it's worth, I remember Eric Welch from his Noah Key Band days. He's a hell of a bass player. Best of luck to all you guys. :)

Thanks much! The band's filled with really great players. Adam moses smokes on drums, and Bill Stevens is a monster on keys. It's a lot of fun playing with them, and I'm the better musician for it, that's for sure! :)
