I'm losing my mind. Toast is NOT saving/burning song titles onto CDs after inputting in 'add text' option using Toast 10. We plug in ISRC Codes and song titles, it burns CD and names them, track 1, track 2, etc, artist unknown. WTF!!!???!!

DEADLINE...DEADLINE...DEADLINE!!!! HHHEEELLLLPPPP. Disks and us need to be on a plane, perfect, tomorrow AM. HEEEELLLPPPPP!!!

Just to make sure here - What is actually telling you "Track 01, Track 02," etc.?

A CD player that has the rare ability to actually read CD-TEXT data - or is it some computer program (WMP, WinAMP, etc., etc., etc.) that pulls the information from a series of databases that have absolutely nothing to do with CD-TEXT information...?

Just asking. It certainly comes up enough...

just renames crap with no name

Yeah. Read all that stuff and thought that was the issue but Toast isn't even NAMING the tracks.

We see:

1 Audio
2 Audio
3 Audio

And that's opening the CD Toast just burned...IN TOAST. It doesn't show song titles in anything. Not Toast, not windows, nothing. It's like you never put the information in, we've tried burning as Audio CD, Mixed CD, Enhanced Audio CD, still...Toast doesn't name the tracks what we name them. And what's creepier is the files were already named out of ProTools. Toast support info on this topic stops at Toast 8 and they keep talking about Jam. We don't have Jam. IS jam integrated in Toast now, we don't know what the heck they are talking about. Flight leaves at 8:30AM i'm about ready to lose it. We're not newbies...this shouldn't be this hard, we've got to be missing something retarded. Just proves all the gear in the world is useless if you don't know how to use it.

HELP...HELP...HELP!!!!

Did your CD burner ever burn cd text or ISRC codes??? Maybe your cd drive doesn't do cd text or isrc codes.

I recently bought a Plextor PX-850SA and it did not burn cd text or codes. I complained on the Plextor forum and a few weeks later they produced a firmware update to correct that bug.

That is a valid question that we need to look into. We have the burner that came with this G5...it's a...a...a...hold on...

Optiarc DVD RW AD-5670S

who in the world is Optiarc??? I'm googling.

be sure to check out the cdfreaks forum. They've got everything.

It's got to be us. Just switched to different Mac, different OS, same problem. Used Toast Titanium 9. Input all the data,

NO SONG NAMES. In iTunes we see:

Track 01
Track 02
Track 03

If you double click to see track info, it's blank.

WTF??!!???

Hi,

The text may still be there, I found the following, if someone knows better please correct me.

I burn CD masters with the Text option on, enter all the titles in the table and the album artist name etc.

If you put the burned master into a computer it just shows up as track 1, track 2 etc etc. Both on mac and PC and both Itunes and Windows media player. I don't believe the computers or these software packages read this text from the CD directory. If I take the master to a radio station I work at the CD players their have CD text display (I don't have any that do), the masters display text correctly on these CD players.

Itunes gets the track titles from an Itunes data base on the net, you can upload this to the Itunes directory by ripping your CD, entering the album title and track names, then "Submit CD track names" under the advances menu. I don't know how to do this on windows media player but probably similar.

Cheers

Alan.

AudioGrabber 1.83 (freeware ripper, download at http://www.audiograbber.com-us.net/) will read/display embedded ISRC and UPC codes.

I'm using Sony CD Architect 5.2c - it seems to be encoding Track/Artist names properly in CD Text, but not ISRC or UPC. I read on another forum it's a bug with version 5.2c

Hi,

above is the answer.

CD text and CD database text are 2 different processes.

Had any luck with toast 10 . I see no Artist , Album and only get track 1,2,3....Maybe you found an answer by now. The reason I bought Toast was to enter ISRC codes. They have a box for it but Tech Support told me after 3 weeks of painful back and forth emails saying maybe I should try this or that . I finally spoke to someone today who said Toast 10 and Creator 2010 does not support isrc file format. I asked, Why is there a place to enter it in the Master settings???
Plus I still see no Artist , Album and only get track 1,2,3....

DID YOU SORT THIS OUT? SAME PROBLEM HERE.

Just bought toast 11 titanium based on it being able to receive input of isrc codes.
Another mastering collegue says his toast 10 gives him isrc codes input options on the "disk/track" pop up window right under the "pause" dropdown and "apply to all" text in the middle of the window.
My later version 11, does not show these options at all not to mention other mastering options etc....

Need help from anyone who has specific answers and no guess work. Just point click sequential instructions.
Appreciate it. This is frustrating.
