I seem to be seeing a recurring theme in music appreciation.

A piece of music will be loved by the masses for no other reason than it is different.

It seems that even the best formats wear off after a while when they are overused.

The big question is: How does one do different? I mean, How does a country singer who is used to the same format melodically as well as lyrically suddenly come up with something "DIFFERENT"?
 
Mostly change your work habits and listening habits..to change you gotta change all.....You gotta be open too IMHO

Henri is right. The key to creating "different" is to immerse yourself in a wider range of music than the listener is aware of.

I agree with those guys. Try picking apart some other genres if you hear something you like. Cross-breeding can be interesting...
