To buy or not to buy??

This is my setup then my question... Samson C03 Condenser running through an MXL MicMate(just for phantom power)to Adobe Audition 3...(?) Do I actually need Cubase for anything?? I was told to get Cubase by a friend of mine to help clean up my vocals, but not sure I really need it. Couldn't I just clean up my vocals through Audition?? what would you recommend??(besides get a better mic, interface..blah, blah etc.)

If all you need is to record a mic, and do nothing else, then there is plenty of free software. Adobe Audition will also do a good job.

What are you planning to achieve?
