to buy Audobe Audition vs. Cubase (LE?)

New member
Been using CEP 2.1a. Just got a new PC, and am going to move to either AA or Cubase LE. Can get latter for $150.

Anyone have thoughts on the merits of one vs. the other?

Look around at portable digital recorders. Some them come bundled with Cubase LE free.
 
They are comparable in terms of recording and mixing features , but Audition also includes editing and CD burning features. Being that you already know Cool Edit , transitioning to Audition should be easy for you , not that Cubase is hard to learn. Figure out what you want to use the programs for and what your prefered way of working is , then see how well each application fits the requirements.
 
Yikes! What type of editing are you referring to? I haven't--in shopping--read of an editing capability difference.

For straight, non-midi work, Audition is much more intuitive than Cubase.
