TLM103 Anniversary Set

I saw this package for sale that includes a Neumann TLM 103 with shockmount and carrying case for $700. I could not believe it!
I have heard so many good things about this mic.
If only I could know a little more about it. I have a Brauner and a bunch of other mics I use alot, but at this price it is hard to say no.

Is this mic worth it?
 
One thing that concerns me is when did neumman start to use the hard case like the far east mics do? You dont suppose they are starting to outsource their mic building to someone else do you? Plus lower the price of the mic about 2 to 3 hundred dollars for an anniversery modle?
I smell a wind comming from the east.
 
I've only seen it for 995.00. Where is it going for 700.00?

I too was jumping on the couch when I got American Musical Supply' s latest catalogue.
It's almost 100% a typo; I haven't even bothered calling. Their website says $995 (or some such.) And so do those of the others I have checked.

With a shock mount that alone is at least $150, it's rather unlikely you get the 103 and the spiffy little case as well for the remainder.
Night's, one question, if you are already up in the Brauner Stratosphere, you (theoretically) shouldn't worry about the cost :-)
But it was one of those great/horrible moments, I must say: no plans to buy, and no money for it, and here is TEMPTATION writ large, until what passes for sanity here kicked back in. Neumann is going lower, but not that low. Too bad,

Cosmic is right, that was an error in the American Musical Supply catalog! Sorry guys. I guess I won't be buying a TLM103.
