Time in Acid

Does anyone know how I can setup acid in 6/8 rather than 4/4? I'm working on a new tune in 6/8 and my loops in 6/8 don't line up right with the measure listings on the ruler because of course, my measure is a few beats shorter than the ones listed there. Please help, I can't seem to find this in the help file or manual, but I might just be missing it...Help!
 
I know you can adjust the ruler markers, but I don't have ACID in front of me right now.

I am pretty sure I found it by accident, so I agree that it may not be in the manual.

Off the top of my head, I would suggest right clicking on the timeline at the top of the project (not the timeline at the bottom) and see if that gives you any options. I think that is how I found it.

If that doesn't work, post back here. When I get in front of ACID tonight, I will try to figure out how I did it.

Okay sonnylarsen, I fiddled with ACID. In one of the pull down menus, you will find "Grid Spacing" options.


However, I had a hunch - so I dumped in some 6/8 loops, and they fit fine within the default rulers, just taking up one more measure ( 8 beats), but if you use the grid spacing option to divide the measures further, it may make it easier to get loops to lock up with each other.

Hey Polaris,

I tried it with ACID Music 2 (on the puter in front of me) and it was a no go - no grid spacing option that I could find.

Maybe it is possible in Music 3 - I don't remember because I only had Music 3 for a couple of days before upgrading to Pro.

In pro, the grid spacing control is found in the options pull down menu. If you have Music 3, try looking for it there.

No, I have Music 2.0. So in Pro2 and presumably Pro3, you can control the grid to measures, instead of just time and samples? I hate how Acid seems to not be for real musicians, because it has such potential for a lot of things.
 
Pro 2, I can't speak for.

Pro 3 - yes, you can break the grid down to 32nd's if ya want.

Yeah, the grid spacing worked well for me. I broke it into 8ths for a song I did in 6/8 (Dulcimer Ride : http://www.nowhereradio.com/artists/3/1437/singles.shtml if you wanna listen to how it turned out) and it worked like a charm. I used all my own loops from fruityloops and loops recorded right into acid for my percussion track. I love it.
