well Im writting this for all the people that have commented on my "TONE" and guitar playing here at this BBS. I want to thank all for your input and critques as we all strive to reach that ever elusive record contract. Now onto some serious babble.
Where should I start? hrmm... I have owned so many pieces of equipment for guitar that I know I have made Sam Ash rich! Why he hasnt had me over for dinner I just dont know, I guess Im not on the A-list. If I had to start over again I would use the following, a compression pedal, and overdrive pedal, para eq, a flange/chorus and of course delay. They dont make reverb pedals so Ill have to deal. Thing is this set up isnt different from what I use now, save the reverb and sonic maximizer. I realize now that if you really want that killer sound LIVE and in the studio, your going to have to spend the cash. Rack mounted equipment is the best investment, oh sure its heavy and bulky and just a plain old pain in the ass to lug to around, but isnt your sound worth all that? I have a 6 space SKB rack. In it are only 4 pieces of equipment. A furman power conditioner for my safety and my equipments, Roland GP-100 guitar Preamp & processor, BBE Sonic Maximizer 462, and a Peavey PV-500 Professional stereo Power amplifier 250watts x2. As you can see, I really have a solid ground to stand on either LIVE or in the studio. This is important cause what you HAVE is what you GET. In my next post Im going to get into how the Roland GP-100 works and how this can relate to anyone using either Foot pedals or Pods, or other Preamp/effects processors..... thanks for reading my babble...more to come.
