You can install the Wave Driver for the digi001, but it is limited to 2 in and out with that driver. Sort of a waste of a soundcard really. It ONLY work's with ProTools LE with all it's I/O...:(

I would check into just about any other soundcard. I have been screwing with the digi001 for a bit now, and don't find it all that exciting. ProTools LE isnt' all that exciting either. The fact that PT does some "tricky" stuff to prevent you from ever clipping the master buss is in my opinion a good reason to avoid it!!!

I saw a list of gears & apps, I didnt see any setup...

Skip the Mackie board and digi 001 a get an Aardvark Q10. The pres are better I promise. You won't get quite as many routing options, but close to as many. You could also lose the DBX 576 in my opinion. I think you meant 376 also instead of 576.

You should get this setup:

Rode NTK -
SM-2 Shockmount -
Cables (Mogami) -
Aardvark Q10 $720
Alesis RA300 Amp $279
Alesis M1 MK II (Pair) -
RNC Compressor $200
Cakewalk Sonar XL -
Waves Plug Ins -

By skipping the Digi 001, Mackie 1642, and DBX 367 you'll be saving around $2000. That leaves you plenty of money for the Aardvark Q10, Alesis RA300, and RNC Compressor. You're also going to have about $800 left leaving you the option to get lots of other goodies. Like maybe some other mics or whatever.

Believe me the Aardvark rocks I have one. Here are some things I have made with it.

(loop I made for a rap song)
(song I am working on now)
(a guy playing flugel horn that I recorded)

All of these songs use Waves plugins for reverb and other effects.
