this one sounds better in the dark

Honestly, it *does* sound better with the lights off. Or maybe I've just been in front of the mixer for too long. Anyway, I'd appreciate any thoughts.

Anyone who can identify the snatch of song that I sampled, looped and otherwise defiled for the centerpiece of this one gets a free pornsite password...:)

very cool groucho-man how do you sing like that-sounds like you eat nails for breakfast-voice is really cool-like some hobo whispering in your ear. i like the mood-your right-listen in the dark-being half delirious helps too. As far as mix and performance-it sounded real good-though a few nit-picks-that single note keyboard accent got a little grating-maybe cause its so direct? or maybe a touch too loud....The piano solo started out cool with the descending riff with echo-but then seemed to run out of steam a bit-and a few obvious clunkers-I woulda preferred a more worked out solo-or another layer of something else going on at the same time---sax would be perfect IMO. But overall this is a great mood piece-it draws you right in. Very good job man!

Listened with light's off...hehe, yeah! Recorded real well imho, good stuff. Last tune i listened to of your's had me thinking you were a straight ahead blues rocker...this shines to a diffrent star all together. Good tune groucho! Enjoyed it.

Here's a shot

Ok, here's a shot at your sample. If I get it right, you can keep the Password though. The drums sound like they were sampled from the break in the Tommy Lee song "Hold Me Down" . How is that for a guess. Otherwise, I thought the song was very interesting. Only suggestion would be that IMHO it might have more impact if it was not as long. Keep it around 3:30 - 3:45. You can certainly take my opinion and throw it in the trash if you like.

Ah, sorry Brian... the porn password will not be yours today... :) (although since you don't want it, if you do guess correctly perhaps you can donate it to underprivilaged kids who can't afford porn...)

Although between my offered "prize" and your Tommy Lee guess, a certain theme is developing here...

Perhaps I should insert a Pam Anderson sample in there somewhere....

Outstanding Chris. Definately a 3:00 in the morning vibe. I really like where it's coming from. I agree the single note accents being a little hot. No other gigs. I like it.

wow... is that you, Everlast?

Seriously, you sound like Everlast crossed with Daniel Ash of Love & Rockets...

Kick ass retro r & b beat to it, with some seriously phuqed flute sound in the background... scared of your own shadow stuff... cool as hell... you're gettin stars for this, m'boy :)

Dazed & confused piano...

If Lenny Kravitz & Beck got together and did a halloween album, with Everlast on vox... this would be what they got...

3:39... LUV that pno... LUV it...

The dryness of the track really works... don't dare put any 'verb on it... this cookie is baked  I'm speedin' it up, and breakdancing ;)

Hey, if I can just do my small part to keep breakdancing alive, that's all I need to feel like I'm doing good in the world...

Thanks for the remarks, all. I may take another look at the hotness of the piano. I wanted it to be kind of jarring and discordant, but I also don't want it to be painful (well, not too painful..., well maybe... ah, who'm I kidding, I'm out to hurt people...)

Nobody else? C'mon... Chris is a patient man, but also (apparently) psycho!
