This may or may not be a really stupid question...

... but I was talking to the guy working behind accessories at Guitar Center. We were talking about amps and I told him that I have a Triple Rectifier. Also, the topic of effects came up, and I also told him that I use about 10 different effects pedals. He was telling me about some kind of controller (MIDI or not - I don't recall) that can save presets by the way your pedals are turned on and by the channel of your amp. Say If I wanted my delay pedal and my flange pedal on while on channel 2, then I suddenly wanted to switch to no effects on channel 3 I could do this by just pressing one button. Now I know this is possible for MIDI controlled effects proccessors, but for individual, non MIDI pedals? I started thinking he may be full of it, but I just don't know. Does this ring a bell to anyone?

no offence, but I hear things about people using alot of effect pedal at once sounding like poo, but when they use one pedal every now and then sounds alright

You can set up effects loops using two of these:
http://www.bosscorp.co.jp/products/en/AB-2/index.html

Or one of these:
http://www.bosscorp.co.jp/products/en/LS-2/index.html

I use two A/B pedals so that I can switch between two different guitars and two different amp channels (Bright and Normal) really fast without unplugging any leads.
I'm not sure how the line selector works though.

Hmmm. Well, I cannot fathom how any sort of device could poll and control individual stompboxes, but I can imagine a controller that is just a series of bypass switches that you could plug all your stomboxes through and leave them all on all the time. The switches could then be run by some kind of controller. Maybe that's what he was talking about.

If such a thing does not exist, remember, kids, I invented it HERE. ;^)

Wow, a Guitar Center employee who doesn't know what he's talking about. Next you'll be telling me my Dell was built in Mexico!

Bradshaw switching system.
I'm looking into this right now. I can't seem to find out much about them online, and they appear to be discontinued. Can someone explain to me how they work exactly? Sorry for my ignorance. :p

As has already been pointed out, http://www.customaudioelectronics.com/index.htm, which is Bob Bradshaws current endevor, or else http://www.axess-electronics.com/, which makes similar stuff, though with different packaging.

I guess I'm kinda just looking for a more plain English explanation I can understand. As far as MIDI controllers and effects loops go, I'm not too educated on the matter. Those sites aren't much help to me because I don't know much of what they're talking about.
