just wondering if i could get some feed back on how this sounds and what else i should do or take offof it. i think it sounds decent but just lookin for some other input, thx

i cut the end to make mp3 fit on here so dosnt really end like this lol

Sounds like every other crappy low budget home recorded rap song lol accept with a pop rock intro lol....
 
I thought the vocal delivery was good.

Two general comments on the mix: it was too bass heavy and it was very narrow. All the higher range instruments are being dominated by the bass and kick.
 
lmao foulphil sorry u can understand my music,not a bunch of screamin,,,,,,,,,n triple ya i thought it was to bassy to what can i do to help that the beat was already mixed n i put vocals to it could it be from the free limiter i used ? cuz i dont remember beat being like that at first

I agree with Trip, particularly about the narrow part, but if the beat was already mixed for you, I'm sure there's not much you can do about the stereo spread with panning and such.

Depending on how you used the limiter, it could alter the tone of the mix, but I don't know that it could create some kind of bass boost?

Again, I think the vocals sound pretty good, but they do kind of sound like they're on top of the backing rather than integrated with it. Keep fiddling with it and see what you can do...

I think Phil is genetically predisposed to hate all things rap. It's nothing personal.
 
I think that backing track has some EQ problems. I don't really know what you can do about that if it's a backing track. Vocals sound pretty good - chorus and the main vocals.

I think the mistake that most people in rap make is that they get a beat, lease a beat, download a beat what ever. It's already mixed down and mastered etc. You can't really change it up too much. You have to make your own beats from scratch and be able to leave all the instrumentation separated in the mixing console. This way you can buss the drums to a compressor to add more punch or raise or lower sections of the instrumentation to fit everything else and mix the vocals in real nice. Then once it's good, you get it mastered. When the beat ends up mastered 2 times it ends up sounding like shit lol. And that's why so many rap songs sound like low budget crap. Rap is a primitive simpletons form of music and has had an adverse effect on society further stupefying people and making it "cool" to act dumb and uneducated. And if you make rap beats find something other than Fruity Loops, that shit just sounds cheesy, not sure why people even use it.
 
thank you finaly a real answer from you. yeah i know thats how it should be done but i dont really have access to all that. just doing this shit for fun n the beat isnt mastered yet i got just the mixed version. n for example how is jayz dumb and uneducated hes one of the most successful/rich musicians ever ill take that kind of stupid. i understand you dont like this type of music but i dont like yours. its just our opinions. if i had a someone to make me beats i would get em tracked out but i dont. so i use whats avalible,basicly all i was askin is how vocals were mixed and how the beat and vocals were mixed together.those are the only parts i can control
 
Being a rich celebrity doesn't constitute great talent. Matter of fact there are a ton of barley talented artists at the top of the "game" making tons of money, but not because what they do is really good. Only because the powers that be were able to market a trend and find some rags to riches schlemiel to fit into the clown costume they made. You know all those clowns in all their "bling bling", what a bunch of jokers! Ever noticed how shitty live rap performances sound? There is a reason for that and it's the same problem with your recording. People want a freak show. Look at today's music and that's what you have. A sick perverted freak show for all the hypnotized emotionally unattached people to kneel down and worship before their glowing box god. They don't call it the "boob tube" for nothing...

The vocals sound pretty good, but over all it doesn't sound GREAT.

k heres the updated one ,let me know thanks,, i cut some of the bass in the beat, and lowered vocal a little

Jerk. I get it you don't like rap (I don't either), but dude, you don't need to be a dick about it.

Also, he's pretty easy to understand even without proper punctuation...pretty much any English speaker shouldn't have a problem understanding what he wrote.

bass is kinda heavy and muddy. make some cuts in the bass, maybe low mids?

mix sounds pretty well balanced. vocals are recorded well and sit in the mix nicely.

this is better than most crappy home rap recordings. The flush is super cheesy, but I like super cheesy. Sorry I can't help more, I don't listen to much rap so I don't know what you're going for.
 
lol cool ya the extras are whatever, just looking for input on mix only mixed a couple songs n i think im gettin pretty close. did you listen to the first one or the second? i did try cutting bass. ayy better then most works, that means in im in the toppp half lol...thx still any other suggestions
 
Listening again. Mix 2 sounds very similar to me...not sure which one I prefer to be honest.

I think your delivery is great on the first couple of verses especially. I'm not so crazy about the chorus (is that the flush?), but whatever. The last verse seemed to have a mellower cadence to it which was odd, 'cause I kinda wanted it to build more at the end, but...well done nonetheless.

The backing track almost sounds a little lo fi in comparison to the way your voice was recorded (which came out well).
 
k thx, ya i cut the bass like peolple were saying i downloaded beat so cant do to much wit it. idk f thats y it sounds lo fi ,, n no flush was toilet part in last verse. so what should i do to make it better
