I really need to let it go...choose my battles and all but this is just price gouging on those who don't know better.

This same part can be ordered from Tascam for $10.37!! (+ S&H) :eek:

Tascam's shipping service is great...My parts always come within 2 to 3 days on standard delivery.

This seller is even in SoCo...probably near the Montebello headquarters!!! :mad:
 
Yup, I see it all the time, with many parts, belts, pinch rollers etc...

People just don't seem to realize that you can still get the same thing cheaper direct from TEAC / TASCAM.

...and there's also the issue of manuals of which you'll just get a better quality copy, again, direct from TEAC.

Yeah, this has been a topic of conversation off and on for some time... how parts are always more expensive on eBay, but so many people don't seem to know. We also used to joke about people spending more for used tape on eBay than they could buy it new on-line. I really wish we could still joke about that. :)

People really should price check anything they plan on buying from at least 3 sources!

that's nothing, here in Canada try to get any gear that isn't actively promoted by the main music chain. When I was looking to get MXL 603s I called them up and asked for a price, they quoted me $300 per mic! I ended up getting a pair brand new on ebay for 100. Let's just say the conversion rate and extra cost of shipping from the US was not equivalent to the $500 markup.
