Just recorded a vocal track yesterday, it was in the multitrack (which had already 10 or so tracks in it) and existed of one mono clean take on one track and a stereo print of my outboard fxgear on the other.

Everything went well, saved it etc.
Then, when I moved on with some keyboardstuff on another track, the vocal part appeared to be way out of time entirely, about a minute. Just the mono track, not the fx-track.

I took a closer look on it, the first thing I thought I had accidently moved the block to the left, but it was still locked in the right time, synchronized to the fx-track. The diagram showed nothing strange, the vocal and fx-track looked fine (more or less the same) in relation to each other.

Having the mono track in Edit view, it's no less stranger.
I see the waveform as I recorded it, but when I press Play I hear something entirely different than what I see. There's for example a lot of vocal to be heard on a part that graphically appears to be empty, and silence or very soft stuff on parts that reacht -3db..

I've tried to restart the computer and all, but nothing worked. I have fixed it for now by moving the block to the right on ear, so now it looks graphically idiot, but sounds right again.

I hope somebody can help me out of this one, thanks!

did you re-name the track?
If you did?....did you adjust the time offset by accident?
it's in the same dialog box.....track properties...

Thanks for the reply, I checked but there was nothing wrong with it.
I also think, it that would have been the problem, I would at least heard sound according to what I see in Edit View I guess.

hmmmmmm...really weird man.....

the only thing I can guess at is that you are linking to the wrong file....
when you say it doesn't play what you see.....is it the right track just out of synch with the visual .WAV form?

if so....did you check the latency setting on your soundcard?

Yeah it's the right track visually and to be heard but just totally not in sync.

My latency is fine, all the other tracks in the same multitrack do not have that problem..

Thanks for helping me with this.

Is it off by the same amount all the way through, or does it get worse (or better) as it plays through the track?

At the same amount. When I push play in Edit View I hear the whole track as I recorded it, but it doesn't correspond with the waveform.

The waveform is right anyhow; I see amplitudes at the exact point where there has to be voice. So it's not the visual thing lacking here, just the sound which comes way too early.

I was just wondering if they are all recorded with the same sample rate. Am I off base here? would this matter?

try loading the file intop another track and positioning it. could just be some freak thing.

Try deleting the pk-file associated to the wav-file. This may be corrupt or something?

Thanks a LOT for your thoughts, I will try it when I´m home.
