i just purchased a v93, this is my first condensor purchase and im clueless as how to use it?????????

i bought this mic because it sounded the best on my voice when i tried it at the store.

problem is, that im not sure how to correctly point this mic?
do you place it vertically in front of the sound source, or do you point it like an sm57, or can you do both for different applications?

and if you can use it both ways, what are the applications for each position?????

oh yeah, and one more thing.
i was kind of surprised that there was'nt a manual in the box.
just a small booklet showing what other mics they make.
and no sticker's either, im not sure if marshall mic's come with this stuff, does anyone know if these mic's come with this stuff??
it makes me a little suspicious about the store.

Basically you use it vertically in front of the sound source. It should have a heart shaped design on one side (the cardoid symbol) - make sure this side is pointing toward the sound source. There is a shiney round thing inside the grill of the mic - this is the capsule and is what picks up the sound.

I have a MXL67, and the only specs that came with it were printed on the outside of the box, so I suspect this is Marshall Electronics standard packaging, and no fault of the store.

Enjoy the mic - people have posted good things about it here.

Also, it needs a phantom power source - hopefully you have a preamp with this.

nail on the head!!

thanks crazydoc!!

exactly what i needed to know.

it's alway's good to know someone is there to answer my stupid questions.
