Sorry, I fu{ed up posting the piece, I'm fixing it right now and it'll be up in 5....

LOL. 1 min 50 sec of high quality hiss. It was kick ass hiss though. LOL :D

Sounds well recorded ... As far as the actual arrangement it seems a little bit long to me (taken out of context, I'm not sure where this is leading to) ... but from a strictly sonic point of view it sounds good and well played.

:)

I thought it sounded great. Well played and well recorded. Any post production tricks going on here, or are these just the raw tracks? It didn't sound all phasey like an mp3, sounded more cd like.

Yeah, it's almost perfect. It's hard to believe the sound you got on that guitar - it sounds like the mic was a centimetre away from the sound hole. How'd you do it?

About the length - it's true it's only a minute, but it's also true it's only three chords fluctuating. So, you could make it more interesting if you faded in and faded out with it: 20 second fading in, 25 seconds full volume, 15 seconds fading out. Tells a story then...

Hell of a recording, carlos. What kind of room did you record in?

A nice room for sure, but that isn't room sound. It's gotta be some kind of mic cum piezo combination, plus effect. I don't see how just a mic could sound that *close*.

nice and clean...until the hiss reared its head at the end. Not sure if it is in the "ass-kicking" catagory, but I enjoyed it. Musically a bit simplistic, but hey...it's an intro...eh!!

Nice Intro. I thought you got some buzzing going on from mic proximity effect, but not too bad.

Nice Intro!!

Thanks for the replies, I agree on the lenght comment, but I like to do the repettitive thing once in a while to "carve" a musical idea in the ears of the listener for further purposes (parts of the intro appear later in the album inside other songs). The guitar was not mic'ed it was direct recorded through a Behringer 602A and then into my Delta 1010. The guitar is a very nice sounding spanish made classical/electric with a cutaway and everything :D!!! The room in which it was recorded is a dead room and there is very little if any reverb added to the tracks. Most of the reverb feel is from delays and what might sound like buzz/hiss is actually the sound of a rainforest blended in the background which was put there for two reasons, one was to create that reverby feel and the other reason is the artistic one, the song that follows this intro (the intro blends into the second track of the album) is supposed to happen in a rainforest.

Glad all you liked the intro,

Carlos

Yeah, I really liked the intro. Now how about some of that prog rock stuff you talked about?

Prog rock coming soon... very soon... the album is almost ready!!! Very cool a la ELP, Camel, Floyd...
