It's kind of tragic that Christian hadn't anticipated that this is someplace where people post songs to get feedback on their efforts.... Christian didn't seem to want feedback, and had a hissy fit when we clowned him for posting a dead link, etc. Predictably, it has escalated to the point where the entity that is Christian is harrassing and threatening people here under various aliases.

Unfortunately that will continue to occur until dragon bans all the offenders and/or notifies the offender's ISP of the activity. It's entertaining like watching a fistfight or a car wreck.

There is another option that apparently the penultimate mindpower over at Mystery Records haven't thought of, and that's posting another song and a short note about how it was rude to market to folks here. Just suck it up and cool yer jets.....it's not a bad option at all. Quite literally, you don't know who is who, and who will be reading your posts years after you've written them. If you guys know the business of music you know it's not a business that you want to go making enemies in unneccesarily. To get where you want to go you literally need the help of many many people - your fans. Remember those? Are you representing them, too?

The mix needs improvement. The delivery on the vocals needs improvement. The drum sound needs improvement. But you didn't post for opinions; you posted an advertisement. Had you spent a couple of weeks listening here, you would have heard a number of recordings of quality and content that far outstrip your client's ability - he's young -and could have been valuable opportunities for him to learn.

Upon hearing Your music here,and it is awful-I have come to the logical conclusion that you are completely and utterly jealous of Christian's unique abilities.

For your information,I,(along with 3 other people in my office),did listen to "supercreep's" music-It was another lame Pearl Jam influenced rip-off!
From what I understand,there are 2 kinds of "music" being posted here-Pearl Jam imitators and really awful "electro" music!
Like I said earlier,instead of going on a jealous rampage in regards to my client,the affable,Christian-go back into your bedroom studio,break out your little lap-tops and practice,practice,practice-
You guy's are becoming boring!

Simply saying that something sucks does not show any of us that you know anything about recording or mixing music.

Your comments thus far have not inspired any confidence in your opinions, or have provided any reason to take you seriously.

I will use a track that TimboZ submitted to anylise the mix.
TimboZ should learn first how to mix a tune to sound like the band/group was performing for an audience in concert. To accomplish this, the mixer must be able to place the instrument with a front/back as well as left/right perspective. The engineer must also be able to overcome masking with equalization, so all instruments can be clearly heard.

The term "static mix" means that the best mix that can be obtained with no controls moving. This type of mix is the basis for monitor and cue mixing during recording & overdubbing. This type of mix is the starting point for a final mixdown.

The instruments should be balanced as to function. By that it is meant than an even balance of all rhythm instruments is obtained which neither accents or disfavors any particular instrument. The lead vocals and instruments should be louder and more present in the mix With this kind of balance, the producer can decide which parts may have to be redone in recording and which instruments to accent, and at what times, in the final mixdown.
The recording engineer would normally obtain this type of mix within 2-3 passes of the tune and then look to the producer for further instructions as to preference. When recording and mixing, the engineer is trying to give the producer what the producer wants. What the engineer likes or dislikes is irrelevant at this point. After the starting point is reached with the performance static mix, communication can begin among all those who have creative input into the mix.
The room or environment aspect of the mix should be natural and minimized at this point in the process. This allows the instruments to be heard and for additional reverberation and effects to be carefully chosen and adjusted for the final mix.
