I sit here all day and try to get this damn crap right with mixing. I feel like I am not getting anywhere.. Could it just be the plug ins?? Or am I just get frustrated and taking it out on Audition??

Do you guys use the plugins for Audition or do you download others for mixing...If you download others, which do you use???

Oh yeah and it would be good if they are free plugins..

I mean, it depends what you ar trying to do with the mixing... its not a magic wand you wave over a track and it sounds great.

the more i got into making music at home, the LESS mixing I had to do. It might be a question of how you are micing and recording real life tracks, or what computer generated tracks you are making. If you want decent results, the track should sound pretty good before you start to mix...

mixing is half art, and half science. I can ALSO tell you from experience, that you cant use computer speakers to mix with, not unless you shell out some bucks. Every system you take your CD to will sound different.

it would probably be mroe productive to know what kind of music you are trying to mix, how it was recorded/generated, etc etc...

mixing takes years of experience to do just right, with ears that have gotten more experienced at the same time.

I can feel where your coming from, it is frustrating at first. Are you trying to record an acoustic guitar. then sing along to it for a second track? Or are you making "beats" and trying to rap over them? Thres a lot that goes into mixing, starting at mic selection and placement, sound checks... etc etc etc.
