seems that everyone talks pc. Doesn'anyone out there use a mac. I'm thinking of buying my own computer so I can cruise this site whenever I want to instead of waiting for my room-mate to stop playing everquest. Any ideas on recording/editing software for the mac. How good is cubase, how expensive is Pro-Tools?

I find cubase to be the same affair on both Mac and PC. Pro Tools is Damn expensive.. but theres a new one the Digi001 thats much cheaper.. +/- 1000.. and it's Macintosh Only.
There are a few programs, Metasynth primarily.. that make me want a Mac soo bad..

I have both PC-Cubase VST and MAC-Digital Performer/Rebirth, Pro-tools is just plain
expensive but as bdmulvery stated there is a cheaper one. My thing is use which ever one you most feel comfortable, everyone has opinions, but theirs may not be yours.

you can do a lot more with the MAC, but I tend to use my PC more quickly & effeciently,
and have great stuff, but I switch back and forth from my sequencer on Cubase, to Performer, to my MPC -- different flows for different grooves --- so it's your decision
