Thinking about upgrading DAWs from Cubase LE4, help convince me.

Hey guys, been doin this home recording thing for a long while now and I still stink at it. After lots of different setups, I've settled with Cubase LE4 which I've been using now for about 4 years. I was looking into Cubase 7.5 and it seems cool but I'm not sure how much more "power" so to speak, it will give me.

What can full edition 7.5 do that LE4 cannot?

Are there any vst instruments included with the players? I don't like synth sounds. I play rock and blues and synths don't fit my style too well.

I'm decently content with LE4 and some VST effects, I really do need a few more midi vst instruments however. I'm also sure I need to learn the program and especially the effects better.

Is it worth upgrading?

Pitch correction, multiple outputs from VSTi, more effects and virtual instruments, better mixer layout (IMO), much more stable than LE4 was. There is much much more.
 
If you are into real music, then the drum VST is a great favourite of mine - but the synths I agree are less handy. The score part, if you need real music is also very useful. Lots of small tweaks and handy extras - I certainly keep upgrading.

I use easy drummer so that part is not so important for me and I can't see myself using the score or tab portion.

With C7 you would be able to send each of EZD's outputs to separate tracks for better control over them. Say eq/compress/reverb on just the snare, etc..

That's pretty sweet.

I already have melodyne so pitch correction isn't much added value for me. You said that it's more stable, can you elaborate on what that means?

I have Melodyne Assistant as well. But most times I end up just using Cubase Variaudio for spot fixes. Way way faster. Just not as good for extreme corrections.

I am surprised you have not had issues with LE4 locking up and stuff. I sure did. That was long ago tho.
 
If "LE4" is a lite, constrained version of Cubase, just do it. You'll find uses for stuff that it will be hard to explain in detail in a thread.

Or at least get a full featured DAW of some kind.

Should I upgrade my colour blind eyes to full colour vision? Well, duh... ;)

LE4 is given away free with interfaces and other kit, and it's pretty good. However, as everyone is saying, almost every single menu in LE is much, much more extended in 7, and the range of options are greater. A friend composes on LE, then send me the file, which I then work on. He has trouble with timing, and pitch despite being excellent - and it's just that he wants more than LE can give him.
