These Clicks/Pops - Latency or Something Else?

Hi guys,

I've recently been struggling with clicks and pops when recording vocals. An example is here: http://www.jimcross.eclipse.co.uk/music/logic_clicking.mp3
The clicks are still there when all inserts are removed from the track. Looking at the waveform I can't see the clicks as significant spikes, and they happen even when I record a vocal as the only track in the project - no plugins, just 1 track straight vocals.

i've found these kind of clicks in a few places on a few vocal tracks. I've tried 2 different interfaces (Firebox and Mackie Onyx), 2 different mics and 2 different mic cables but we still get them. Typically the mic goes straight into my Firebox, which is connected to my MacBook Pro via firewire. The problem seems to have got worse recently. Oddly i'm quite sure I can even hear these clicks at recording time, even though I'm using hardware monitoring in the case of the Firebox.
Also odd is the fact that this only seems to happen on vocal tracks as far as I can tell. Piano, guitar etc seem to fine.
They're definitely not in places around fades/edits.

Any suggestions as to how to stop this happening would be much appreciated! These clicks have cost us 3 days recording time as we've had to keep re-recording the vocal, and I'm really at a loss now as to how to stop them happening.

Cheers!

Jim

Have you tried changing mikes and leads?

Have you tried recording an audio track with nothng connected to the interface?
