you need to compress the vocals, a hell of a lot more than you are now if you are at all, then you need to bring them up in the mix....its very much like you are just singing over a backing track as they are not sitting in with them at all imo..they vary in volume then even distort at one point....also try some slight reverb and/or ping pong delay to sit them in


that being said you are singing pretty well its just how you process them that you need to work on

IMO the track and the singing has no energy. The backing track sounds like a canned beat you would download back in the day. Needs lots of work to bring up to snuf. Thanks for sharing and keep at it.

well i think the track itself is nice. it does sound a bit "oldish" but seems to me it would sound better if you did some more "work" on the instruments . . . like . . playing a deeper bass to thicken the melody and strengthening the drum tracks wit stronger kicks and snares . .
(but i love hip hop so much that i wish all rnb was produced with a hip hop swagg to it)

i also think its too laid back (or lacking energy)
but most of these ideas are "production" issues the lyrics, the melodies are GOOD!

everything can BETTER over a BETTER beat . . . but you cant ALWAYS stay in "search" mode for THE PERFECT BEAT . . . unless you mean . . u just dont like the track at all . .

Well...

1. the song needs to be mixed better first off (that will take care of 50% of your problem)
2. The lyrics are good but you need to add some passion in what your saying. And you would seriously benefit from someone else rapping on the track with you.
3. If possible have someone whose opinion you trust be there with you while you record so you can have an objective view on the song as your doing it. this will save you time so you don't have to do it again
4. What's your recording chain looking like? your vocals sounded very processed.
