you guys have no idea how badly i want victory pete to end up being ed rei. really, really, REEEEEAALLY badly!!
Quite the contrary.
VP has posted unsubstantiated "facts" based on limited experiential evidence and when challenged - politely but firmly by many including but not limited to Muttley - has dug in his heels and played the victim card.
What you may construe as rudeness from Mutt is simply plain speaking, when addressing someone who is offering opinion as fact.
This may rankle you but it is not rude.
VP has subsequently offered himself up for whacking and has gotten whacked, and deservedly so.
I'll shall tell you what guy's. I shall make this easier on every one.
VP is now the resident Know-it-all expert. You want to know anything about how to maintain your guitar or how to approach fixing it. If you want any pointers or help with musical acoustics and how vibrational physics works or materials science and the way materials behave, then he's the man to ask.
If you need to know if doing x, y or z is going to help or hinder when you try a little bit of setup on your guitar give VP a shout. If any of you are interested in build threads and want to see some pics of how guitars are put together or repairs are done VP has a bunch of pictures and knowledge to share.
There is an added bonus that he has already displayed in quantity and that is that he doesn't have to restrict himself to that narrow field of expertise as I have in the past. No, VP will quite happily extend his hand of wisdom to the just about any subject you choose to want advice on.
Enjoy your new resident expert and I hope he gives you many years of trouble free service. Just one word of caution. Don't blind him with common sense, physics (or any kind of science), reason or question the validity of his experiences and observations no matter how suspect they may at first appear. Just have some blind faith in his judgement and all will be fine.
In the meantime I'll take a break from that role if it's ok with you all.
LOL@ you lot falling for the victim_pete card.![]()

Brian, I would suggest that you perform a forum search for every post by VP. Start from the beginning and read. The forum post history provides all the substantiation that is necessary.I am not saying it is rude or I am "rankled" by it but, "I know and I ain't tellin'" certainly is not clarifying the dispute to the rest of us looking for why the dispute is taking place. Not every wrong comment is readily evident to all without public clarification.
If you are going to call someone out then point out what you are calling them out on and also provide a statement to back up your dispute otherwise you are just doing an equal disservice to the community.
meg·a·lo·ma·ni·a (měg'ə-lō-mā'nē-ə, -mān'yə)
n.
1. A psychopathological condition characterized by delusional fantasies of wealth, power, or omnipotence.
2. An obsession with grandiose or extravagant things or actions..
Ever since VP has started posting on this forum Muttley has attacked just about every one of VP's posts with insult and with the purpose to incite VP to have to defend his each and every post.
man, i would totly have that condition if i wasn't really so great.
...he cant even record drums and then says he's re-inventing the wheel when told so![]()
Sorry only one disease to a customer and I have you down for Elephantitis.
Elephantiasis
Definition
The word elephantiasis is a vivid and accurate term for the syndrome it describes: the gross (visible) enlargement of the arms, legs, or genitals to elephantoid size.
That syndrome will make you pretty popular at the beach. Especially when you wear your leopard print speedo.
wait just one second! how did you know i have a leopard print speedo?![]()
