The Siefer Vs. Cloneboy Mix

I don't know man, I just wanted the drums to be loud and and dry and pounded to hell, so I did whatever I could to get my sound. The original hits are still audible in there from other inputs, so I don't feel like it was SUPER CHEATING or something.
 
I don't consider Drumagog "cheating". I'm recording a band right now.. the bass drum had a disgusting sounding low end. I rolled off the kick at around 800hz, then I copied the track and put Drumagog on it 100%. The sample used used had a nice thump, but a cheesy sounding high end. I rolled the top off at around 1000hz, blended to taste. Now it's a decent sounding kick. :D

I still have a few kinks to work out.. but it sounds MUCH better.

I also used it on my band's stuff a little while ago. I put a snappy snare sample underneath the snare. I made it engage only on the loud hits. Sounds neat.
 
Well everyone keeps getting on my ass trying to say my mixes DON'T COUNT because hits are replaced, but the fact is that the real drum tracks have to be mixed well, and the samples I use are dry and have to be mixed, and I had to mix them together so it sounded like one drumset and not a bunch of cheesy shit being triggered on top of the song. I am a failure don't listen to me

I can't wait untill you guys post your mixes. This thread has gotten way out of control. Im going to be pissed if the material is a disappointment.
 
When something gets built up this much, it's almost certain it will be a disappointment.

I thought Cloneboy was gonna post his mix on Saturday.

A lot of noise over nothing.
 
I recorded my band already. They sucked pretty bad, and they didn't have a vocalist. They had a garbage can drumset, and played $300 guitars through carvin amps. I must say though, they came out sounding a lot better than they actually are because of me; I rule. fuck you I hate you
