I am a great lover of music and have always wanted to start a home studio-I have just recently reached a point (financially) where it's possible to begin. The problem is I am TOTALLY ignorant of HOW to begin. I would greatly appreciate some pointers on how to start.(including suggestions on books-magazines) Thanx!!!

this forum is a great place to start

also might wanna go to your local bookstore n pick up somethin like home recording for dummies, or others along that line...

It also depends on what kind of recording you plan to do. If you're just going to record yourself doing one instrument or voice at a time you can make to with a fairly meager set-up.

Local bookstores might have some books on recording. I have had better luck finding recording books at my local audio store... Guitar Center, Musician's Friend, etc... One online place I'd recommend is www.tweakheadz.com
