I think that sounds really good on its own, Bubba. It does seem like the sort of thing that might get a bit lost if there was a lot of thick rhythm playing behind it. But if that was just over a bassline with some drums I reckon it would sound great.

Does sound like it was fucking loud in the room. Was it?

Cheers, JDOD. It's soloed from my latest tune where it sits with quite busy drums but laid-back bass, keyboards and vocals. It holds its own there, but against a denser background it would need to be more cutting. It was pretty loud but it wasn't deafening in the room by any means.

I wanna give a big shout out & thanks to all of you here that have helped me these past few months, I honestly don't know what I would've done if you guys weren't there for me....

Thanks Bob, again this is a vst wah from Amplitube ran from my interface > re-amper > DSL100...I was kinda concerned it wouldn't sound natural/real because I've tried that before (the vst fx), & they just didn't cut it....

And, things have finally turned around here for me financially, & I should be able to buy some more gear before too much longer. To be honest, I was shocked at the phone call I got today, in short, $$$ is on the way for the rest of my born days dude...It was actually kinda overwhelming because I've had such a hard time the past few months, but finally, things are looking a hell of a lot better for me....

Thanks Jdude, I use automation in Reaper to control the effect parameters. If I had one, I could use a midi footpedal thing to do it in real time (as I'm recording the di track), but I don't so I use my midi keyboard's pitch wheel to record the wah's movement after I've tracked the di...There are several way of doing this, you can actually just draw in the shapes/curves you want/need in the automation lane...

Thanks Gerg....on the drumming, well it's kinda me, but I did go into the midi editor & fix a bunch of stuff...Gimme time dude, I'll get something I've actually played all the way through, might even post a vid eventually, but it'll be a while....


Dunno if you read any of my posts yesterday, but the heart problems I've had recently have knocked me out of the work force dude, permanently, it's over, I'm disabled.... I've finally been awarded what I've been waiting on, I'll be getting $"X" every month, for the rest of my days, should have the first check in about a week or so...

Unbelievable for me man, these past 6-8 months have almost broken me in every way possible, but I will finally be pretty secure from now on....This is such a god-damned burden lifted off me, you'll never know....

I'm already looking at used JVM's and possibly an SG......

That's great, Miner. I'm sure you'd rather have your health, but without that at least you've got this to get you by. Given that you now have both spare time and money we expect you to be producing a double album or leather trousers prog hair metal, complete with Yngwie solos, by the end of the year.

Seriously though, mate, now you've got this make sure you try and keep yourself active and doing shit otherwise your health will just suffer further. I know health/welfare is much different in the UK the US but know 3 people that get significant disability benefits. One used her money to get herself on track with a private business which she could manage and is now successful. The other two just became couch potatoes - one of them is now massive and the other smokes a fuck load of weed. Both are markedly less healthy than when they were signed off!

You've got your music though, mate. So stay as fit/healthy as you can and use this as an opportunity. Hey, travel a bit!

To be fair, this is is probably a handy idea. I like to use a bit of wah for lead but I haven't much lately 'cos I'm never happy with my wahring when I listen to the take back - so figured I'd just give it a miss. (actually I've not worked much on my guitar parts for my songs lately been mainly just improving my guitar playing and singing).

Annoying really, cos my wahring used to be pretty good. Suppose I should just do myself a backing track and practice for a few hours instead of writing a solo, deciding it could do with a bit of wah, and then getting disapointed when it sounds shit.
