That's awesome dude. :)

Thanks Greg, but I will say this past year or so has really taken it's toll on me, in more than one way, but it does look like things are finally looking up for me. Hopefully before too long I won't have to worry about a lot of this shit. It's been a rough fuckin' year or so for me, but you already knew that...

I'd consider selling my DSL100H if I could get enough out of it for the biggest part of a used JVM....but then again, it'd be cool to have both...:).

Honestly, I really like the DSL, but a JVM would render that thing useless. Anything you can do with your DSL can be done with the JVM, and then much more.

I'm aware of that dude, maybe I could flip my DSL for the biggest part of a used JVM, I dunno....Just have to play the waiting game a little while...

Oh yeah, did your buddy ever try the Chupa out????

Boston burning but no rockman preamp, no roackman compressor, no rockman FX & EQ?
That riff has been recycled for 50 years or so.
I like the tone and changes - also love then PU selector flicking - very Who.

Nope, not yet that I'm aware of.

The Who is certainly better than Boston. :D

I'd better get MY JVM tones up! :D Not tonight, though - I'm touring in Doncaster tonight.

I'll be interesting to see what your JVM tones sound like actually - you'll probably just sound like you... its funny, even when Greg is trying to sound like someone else - he still sounds like Greg hammering a Marshall, will probably be the same for all of us, we just can't stop sounding like ourselves, eh? Not that that's a bad thing.

That's exactly how it works. Deep down we all sound like what we sound like, the rest is just fun and games and entertaining ourselves.

yep ..... we all have a sound in our heads and we twist whatever gear we have to make it sound as much like that as we can.

I got a bittersweet compliment recently from the drummer in my guitar gig band. The sweet part was he said "Greg you have all those amps and cabs and you always sound like you no matter what". I like that. Somehow some way I have my own sound. The bitter part is...why the fuck do I have all these amps and cabs then? :laughings:

Don't feel bad dude, no matter what I do, I always sound like me too...:).

Yeah you do. I don't feel bad. I think it's cool. All my favorite dudes have a signature sound and they sound how they sound no matter what. If I'm somehow like that too, then awesome.

That's a cool way of thinking about that, my favorite players all have their own sound, so why can't we too??? I mean, even if I can't play for shit, I still have my own sound....:laughings:.

Ha ha! I don't know what "I" sound like. I've imitated many people over the years but I'm not sure I have a signature sound. Anyway, the JVM's having its second outing tonight so I should be tweaking closer and closer to my perfect tones. :D

I do have my obvious influences though. I play rhythm kind of like a hybrid between Angus and Johnny Ramone. A lot of open chords, barre chords, and blazing downstrokes without a ton of gain. My ham-fisted leads are typically sort of like if Ace Frehley played surf and rockabilly. :laughings:

I wanna hear some tones from that thing when you get a chance Bubba, so it can stoke my GAS for a JVM even more...:D.

Sure man, everyone has their influences...I'm sure it shows more/less from player to player depending on the person, but I'm sure it's there for everyone...

I play a lot of the same style you do Greg, I'm really not into complicated, shreddy-type stuff simply because I can't play it. I play mostly blues-based stuff myself. At one time I tried to get into the neo-classical stuff (late 80's...), & tried to learn some of that shit, but it never fit into the music I was playing live, so I just stopped going down that road.

Someone I've always admired as a guitarist is Tom Keifer (Cinderella's lead singer)....I know, I know some of the stuff they did back in the day is the hair-metal you hate (and some of that stuff I happen to love...:)), but his guitar work seemed he always tried to have some bluesy-based stuff injected into it...That's just one of the top of my head, there are lots more like that, but he just came to mind because of the bluesy stuff he does....
