Fuck yeah! While the beatles were standing still like cute little statues wearing matching suits and singing about holding hands while playing through their little combo amps, The Who was doing this...:D

you can't have one, Pete already trashed them all. :D

Seriously, you could have one made, but I can't imagine why you would want to, except perhaps for a permanent installation.

I don't really want one. That's just crazy.

Marshall also made a big 4x12 that looked similar to that, but not quite as big. It used offset speakers instead of having them all lined up.

Here, this....

It's cool how you can get to meet people from all over the world here. :thumbs up:

I just got my modest home studio put back together (moved it upstairs), and I 'm back up and running as of today.

i love home recording but im not that good at it

im an american living in ohio

i decided to get some help with recording so im paying now

huh? lied about what?

im trying for a hit in czech republic but i was born in chicago and live in ohio

i hope they like rock n roll

oh, sorry ... :o

That's even weirder.

So, what made you think of trying to promote yourself in the Czech Republic, and how are you going about doing it?
Are your songs (I see you do some covers) sung in English?

Someone's gotta do something in this thread!

So....here's something. Just goofing around with a made up on the spot gay classic rock-ish riff. I might use it to write a song called "Classic Rock is Lame but I Love the Amps!". :D

Anyway, this is 2 clips, with 2 sections in each one. The first half of each clip is amp alone, the second half is clean boosted with a Boss SD-1. One clip is a Greenback speaker, one is a G12-65. Exact same everything else. You can really hear how open the amp is before the pedal kicks in, and how "loose" the Greenback is compared to the G12-65.

Les Paul - bridge pickup Burstbucker 3.
1979 Marshall JMP 2204
Presence - 0
Bass - 4
Mid - 4
Treb - 5
Gain - 8
Master vol - 5
Marshall 1960a 4x12 - Greenback/G12-65
Audix i5 on-axis on grill - dustcap/cone for G12-65, just outside dustcap on Greenback. Same approx position from center for each speaker.
Boss SD-1 Super OverDrive - level @ max, drive @ 0, tone @ 12:00
Unaltered, unprocessed in DAW.

LP - JMP - G12-65
LP -JMP - Greenback

Cool tones as usual Greg.....I almost posted some of my shit a couple days ago, but didn't....I agree we need to keep this bitch goin'!!!!!

I'll post up some shit in a while, just got in from work, & need to take a shower....

FWIW, I've been getting similar tones with my Tweaker the last couple/few days as your second clip....The little T15 is more Marshall-y than I thought, of course, for the type of gain-y sounds I go for, the DSL-1 kills it, but for a vintage-y thing like this, the Tweaker does pretty good....

Cool tones dude!!!!!

nice ..... oddly , during the amp only sections I liked the G12 a lot more than the greenback but during the boosted sections I much preferred the Greenback ............

OK, here's a few tones, all from the same song I'm working on....

Ibanez > SD-1 > DSL-1 > Greenback >/57:

Ibanez > SD-1 > T15 > Greenback >/57:

Ibanez > Univibe (Amplitube 3...recorded a di, then used AT3 & re-amped into the T15) > SD-1 > T15 > Greenback >/57 > Flanger > Delay (both from Guitar Rig 5, added in daw):

And, here's what they sound like in a shitty song/mix I'm working on:

All the guitar tracks above have a little 'verb on 'em, I just solo'd then rendered 'em....I think the Tweaker does a pretty good Marshall sound myself, but I've got to get the master up to around 7-8, for the power tube breakup thing....I recorded all of these guitars through an ampsim, then re-amped 'em through my amps (that's how I added the Univibe thing to the T15 clip, just put AT3 as an insert on the di track, & ran it through the amp, recording with the '57).....I was going for a boosted Plexi type thing with the Tweaker, dunno how close I got, but it seems to work pretty good (IMO) in the mix...All the guitars have a high/low pass on 'em too (80hz & 12.5khz)....

Lemme know what ya think guys.....

Thanks guys. :)

Lt Boob - I agree with your observations. I'm finding that I think the G12-65s are a better fit for the JMP than the Greenbacks with the amp in it's natural state. Lol. The 2204 is a really loose amp, it has a really open power section, and I think the relatively controlled tightness of the G1265s work well with the amp. They're like a Greenback on steroids. I think these clips have too much gain though for what I was actually trying to do but I like the sound with the boost. It reminds me of 80s hair rock. :laughings:

minerman - Cool clips man. I'm not crazy about the Tweaker rhythm clip, but they all sound good together. The little lead riff thing sounds pretty close to EVH in the mix. I don't know if you tried for that, but the riff and style sounds like something you'd find in a VH song. I really like the DSL clip.
