flash- way cool, yeah all I played at that age was a fender and a guitar my dad made.

foo - forgot to say.. your question what style of music? it's about all styles of music.

cheers

I've owned quite a few guitars ovet the years, some nice, some not. A few real favorites have been a 55 Gibson Les Paul, 64 Fender Telecaster, 80 Vantage 600 VS, which I still have and play, and my current favorite, a 90 something Ibanez RG170. All of them have had their place and worked for the particular style I was into at the time. Good luck on the article, Dani

I just played a Martin D45V today................that is officially the nicest guitar I have ever played. I almost cried at how much nicer it was than my D41.

I have a lot of guitars and I use them all often. I'm primarily a blues player, so most of the time I reach for my strat (it's a early 90s 62 reissue made in Japan). The strat is really good of doing funky rhythm stuff. When A song calls for a more distorted sound, I grab my (Epiphone) Les Paul. When I'm doing something with a lot of dive bomb tremolo stuff with even more distortion I use an 84 Kramer Brietta. I have an Epiphone Dot (simi hollow body) for doing mellow jazzy songs or BB King sounds. When I want a tone that sounds spicy and has a bite I get out my Jay Turser Telecaster (I just bought this one, for $150.00 you just can't beat it) and last, for playing slide, I use a Gibson Les Paul Jr Special (this guitar has the old style P90 pickups). I also have a 64 Gibson Firebird, but I don't like to take it to gigs because I'm afraid it'll be stolen.

None of these are hard rules. I just grab the guitar that I think will work, but if it doesn't, I'll put it down and grab something that will. I play all of these guitars through a 50 watt 64 Fender Bassman 2X12 and I play effect free for the most part. For recording, I use a Johnson J-Station most of the time.

I was a Tele / Stat guy for many years, and still play those when the tone is needed. But my current main ax is a Brian Moore i2 and having the ability to coil-tap is one that I am beginning to like.

I have owned alot of guitars in the past (76 and 80 Les Pauls, Fender Custom Shop Strat with Floyd Rose, Jackson Soloist, Ibanez RG550, Ibanez S540, Washburn Nuno N2, Hamer Glenn Tipton Model, Kramer Nightswan)

I have now 3 guitars in my collection for recording and playing, Ibanez RG520, RG560 and an RG570. They cover all the sounds I need and are pretty durable guitars. I do need a hardtail soon, cause the Floyds are abit temeramental when weather changes.

My main guitar is a 70 Tele with Joe Bardens. Greatest guitar I've ever played in 40+ years of picking. I had a 69 that was pretty awesome too, but I wore it out! This Tele is used for playing just about anything and it does a great job.

My favorite electric is my 52 RI Tele. I never liked the look of them and never even gave Teles a thought until I was in the amp room at GC and that was the only non-Ibanez-metal-looking guitar around. I plugged it into a ProJunior and found THE nicest guitar/amp combo I have ever heard. I got the BJ instead for reverb, but I will get a Pro soon enough.

I modded my tele to the modern pickup configuration and put in a TexasSpecial since the bridge pickup died, but I am going to go back to the original roll-off selector.
