OK, there are thousands of mics out there, and although we all know the most famous of them, I was wondering what everyone thought were the best mics for each instrument (this includes Overheads, Snare and Kick). I'm sure that the SM57 will occur a lot, but I'd be interested to know what to use :) Thanks

Canopus, check out a recent thread in the microphone forum called "What mics would you use?" A number of people here have already answered your question. Budget is an issue. If price was no object, I'd probably use $60,000 worth of mics. Sorry, it ain't gonna happen.-Richie
