Just plugged in this unit; now I have two FX units of small size doing a big job.

My Alesis Midiverb III is what I've been using most of the time; the addition of the Lexicon low-priced unit is pretty good because it's 24 bit and the Alesis is only 16 bit.

The Alesis gives vocals some nice choices but they are boomy unless edited.

The MPX-100 doesn't edit but it has an "adjustment" dial. Not quite as fancy as the Alesis editing feature but it works all right considering the price of the unit.

The 100 is pretty simple to use and the "manual" isn't too hard to understand; except, those engineers keep using technical terms instead of simple terms; ahh, that's life.

The unit is very light, about 5 lbs. I notice that every time I get a new piece of gear, it's LIGHTER and usually better. Progress?

Well, now I am going to haul my Ensonique DP-4 down to my storage area.

Anyone interesting in buying the DP-4? Make an offer.

Yep it's not a bad unit for the price (if I remember I got it for around $175 or something?). Not much editing capability, but the reverbs aren't too bad. I really like the 'tap' you can do on some of the delays ... that has come in pretty handy. I still like my Wedge better as far as # of presets and editing go ... but I have noticed that the MPX100 is much less noisy. Much less.
So, for the price, it's worth it.
Enjoy.

PS ... everything is getting lighter because they all have WALL WARTS now!! Yuck! :P

Lexicon is as Lexicon does! Ya can't beat their verbs @ any price point. Just an asshole, uh I mean an opinion.

I am VERY impressed...

...with the large pro Lexicon reverbs, but the cheaper units, like the MPX-100, I wasn't impressed with at all. I listened at different place and different times, though.
But I didn't feel they had that much of a better price/performance, and I didn't get that totally smooth "Lexicon feel" that I got with their main units.

Am I totally wrong here?

Yo Big K: [et.al]

Thanks for you views; I do agree with you Big-K that there is less noise on the Lexicon.

I would have bought the 500 but I believe it only comes with XLR plugs and my Yam MD-8 only has 1/4 inch plugs for the effects loop; Sooooooooooo, is there a way around this problem?

Happy Fall
