Thanks for listening.

Slobbermonster - I'll have to keep you in mind when I get the CD all together. I'm in the process of recording almost the entire thing again because I did'nt have the Delta 66 set up right at the beginning.:D

Ecktronic - Yeah, the reverb as it was, was really bad. I'm trying some new impulses with Sir that don't have the bounce back like the one's I was using. Never noticed any glitches though. Humm. It might be Soundclick. They're having alot of problems here lately. The licks in the song are'nt to much. Just a few scales here and there and a few arppegios thrown in.

Thanks everyone! ;)

Beautiful...
Now the bad part.... I agree, Bass and low mids heavy and to much pre-delay on the 'verb.

Easy to fix, you've got the hard part nailed.... (the music) You are a fine player! Thanks for sharing...

Fine, fine music.....................

Please add me to the list of people who want a copy of the CD.

One of my favorite pickers in this style is Al Pettaway and your music is right up there!

I too like the minimalist approach. You certainly have the chops to carry the entire composition on your own, so why put makeup on the Mona Lisa? Sounds great the way it is.

I'm working on learning about Home Recording so listening to performances and recordings like yours are a real treat. I have a couple grand invested so far and by being on this board I have SOO much. With a little room treatment (besides the blankets I have on the wall), I should be good to go. Of course, I have laid down some tracks and my actually post a recording here soon. And that takes some guts!

So congratulations. And frankly, I like a nice low end, but I'm a dreadnought player myself. I have a nice 12-fret 000 that records well too.

Here's something I am planning and you guys can tell me what you think. I purchased a used Yamaha 4416 that is a wonderful machine BUT it has a steep learning curve and manual is the PITS. What I'd like to do is PAY someone for private lessons on the thing (via phone). As in, "What the heck does this knob do?", and "How do I............"
I can set things up EXACTLY like the manual says and I still cannot get it right.

Again..........great job. Works for me.

Once again I'd like to thank everyone who has listened.

Turnitdown - Glad you liked the tune and my playing. Hope to be recording a newer version soon that swings the way I intended it too when I first wrote the piece. This version I was just trying to get the recording down half way decent so I could actually hear it through the monitors to make sure it sounded alright.

Tennbidder - Al Pettaway is a pretty good picker. I like Kottke, DeGrassi, Hedges and Bensusan myself. All great pickers if you ask me. As for the Yamaha unit, I don't know much about it. There are some people here that use them I believe. You might try asking around in one of the other forums.

To anyone who is interested, I have uploaded the song again with the bass rolled back a little, with slight compression, and I've changed the reverb to a slightly less irritating level. It's the same Sir program, but I've managed to find a impulse that does'nt have the bounce as the first version had.

Again thanks for the responses they've all been helpful! ;)

Great,Great Job.... Love it!BTW the sound is awesome..

Class act.

Also listened to Wanderings - that's lovely, too. A refreshing combination of technique and musicality. Makes me think of Gordon Giltrap.

Not only the tunes, but also your sheer technique would make it a joy to see you perform live.

And the recording sounds fine to me - forgot to listen for the reverb issue as I got wrapped up in the playing.

Nice work! I would agree that it seems that a little too much mids are eq'd out. Also, watch your timing. Your doing a solo thing, so it is not critical, but if you want to add anything rhythmic in the future, it will bite ya!

Thanks again for the listens.

Protube2004 - Glad you liked the tune. I still have to work on the sound a little more but when I record the song over the settings on my soundcard will be the way I want them. Although, there seems to be alot of people who agree that it sounds alright now. Hmmm.

Robin - Thanks for listening to 'Wanderings' too. The members at Soundclick seem to like that piece too. It's on about 24 stations over there. If you did'nt notice the reverb issue then I may have solved at least that problem. If I had'nt you would have noticed. Don't know who Gordon Giltrap is. I'll have to look into that. Thanks for the tip.

Chris - I tried to up the mids some in the newer version. I'll have to look at it again. As for the timing issue it may have been caused when the dog next door started barking in the middle of recording. Boy, how I hate that. Instead of starting over, I decided to just go back a ways and begin at a point where the dog was'nt barking and go from there. The problem is I think he barked about three times during the recording. Also the timing thing really is'nt much of a issue for me cause all I ever record is solo stuff unless I really need something else, then I'll either use a click track or use some other mechanism like a cello track or drum track to follow.

Again I'd like to thank everyone who has listened to the tune. I really appreciate all the feedback. THANKS! :D

I just listened again and whatever I didn't like before isn't there anymore. Nice. I'm in a mood to listen, not read, wondering what your input signal chain is and the guitar and mic, pres, eq, etc., maybe this is in here, i'll read it later....

Very nice recording. What I love is the sound you're able to get out of a very reasonably priced setup. The tone is very rich w/ a nice stereo image. Tonality challenges are fixable w/ proper eq.

Well done. Nicely played and recorded.

Once again, thanks for the listens.

Junplugged - I believe it was the reverb I was using that irritated you the first time you listened. I was'nt happy with it either. And with the roll off of a little bass, I find it easier to listen to, too. The signal chain is on the other page.

K-dub - You mentioned my setup and how modest it was. Hell, when I bought it I thought it was a lot of money. He, he. Of course, I also bought the computer at the same time too. Yeah, it's not what you'd call high end stuff, but it sounds pretty good to me and that's all I really care about. I am working on the EQ stuff now but I might wait until I record the piece again.

dsynthuhsize - Glad you liked the tune. Maybe when I record it again I can capture the emotion I intended the tune to have. I think I was more into just getting the song down in my computer and not emphisizing the swing I wanted. Hopefully next time.

Thanks again to one and all who have taken the time and listened. Even those who have not responded. I know it can be a pain sometimes. And thanks again to those who have given me feedback. :D

Dude, you really inspired me, i played it over and over again for like an hour.

What kind of room did you record the guitar?
Wow.

Ben

Glad you liked the tune so much. The room I recorded in is a 10' X10' single bedroom where I've been relegated. Crowded with a single bed, large desk with computer on top, a entertainment center and all my music stuff. No vaulted ceilings, just a square room with carpet on the floor and bare walls, except for the six clocks on one wall. I like to build clocks for friends. :D
