Dragonworks - you deserve a prize for the highest quantity of information delivered at the least cost in bandwidth of any post in the history of the internet :)

(you missed out mentioning the easy way to find the relative minor which is just to go down three frets ;))

I was not dealing with frets but with notes :)

Of course this is all applicable to non fretted instruments. ;)

Thank you for the accolade :D

Gimme a break, I'm only a bass player ;)

Kudos, my hat is off to you, you present a much clearer picture. :)
My guess is you found my post to be jibberish?

obviously I am not getting across, I give up.

Why so touchy? I completely understood and appreciated your previous post - I was just making a little joke at Rick's response. Which I am too thick to understand but I'm sure he won't mind ;)

Lighten up for heaven's sake both of you (and the disappeared TaoMannoDon) - it's better to be Mozart than Salieri. (Wonder how many will get that one if I want to start getting precious too :))

Not at all. My guess is you found my thread a waste of bandwidth.

or if you want the augmented
If thats how you notate music, carry on.

I only need the 60 chord system :)

BTW gentleman. I only came here to help. But I seem to have stepped on some pecking order toes here. I didn't come to spar, poke fun of or be ridiculed. I may not have started my journey as early or grown enlightened as some here, but I am no fool eithier. Good luck with your journey. I've completed mine.

Gary. Maybe you would care to explain your system to the others. No doubt what I am familiar with will bore you. I can see now, my unsolicited attempt to help explain a little theory 101 and how it relates to the guitar via a "jouney" is of little use here as the membership of this forum no doubt would rather discuss teenage rock gear trivia. But "my" theory regarding HR guitar forum regulars has been confirmed. It is par. Perhaps one day you can visit my regular HR forum. Expect the same.

Oh for fuck's sake Rick act your age and not your shoe size. Music is built on irreverence, fun and not taking anything too seriously. That's how talent works, which was what my Mozart/ Salieri comment related to. Perhaps you didn't appreciate it and hence maybe there is still stuff for you to learn.

The fact that your posts were unsolicited does not mean they are invalid or that people don't find them worthwhile. I will make one point, which is that here in a web forum you are in a world of prose, not music. Communicating in prose takes a particular skill and my first comment to you was genuine advice (I have had seven books published, I was not being facetious; your first post was unreadable).

You have had plenty of supportive comments, including mine, if you are so thin skinned then I don't know how you could expect to survive in any arena that entails public exposure.

So, as we say in England - a bit more robustness please chaps :)

obviously you guys take me way to serious. :)
sorry I caused some consternation, my second two posts were a misguided attempt at humor.
Actually I didn't find anyones post irrelevant. I was only trying to help in my own way.
I didn't read too much because I know most of this stuff after playing forty years, sorry if I got anyone miffed. :D

Don't think you did. And you do know the stuff ;)

I understand Dragonworks post but can someone explain Ricks

It looks like a bunch of numbers that have no meaning to me please explain.

I get this sort of spew from musicians with chops better than mine trying to make excuses for not being able to play the shit. They feel a need to make you know they understood what they were *trying* to play.

Dragonworks was just having a small laugh with that mentality in mind.

Nice post Garry,

I do like that word "Robustness" nearly the same as the Dutch variation "Robust" aghhh you can see there is only the North Sea who divides us.......................

Okay Dragon, you sure must have had a lot of time to post this info, but was it fun to read? Agh, well, I think you know the answer eh? Oh who said things should be fun? Well noone really, but it does help for the alertness of the mind.

Rick, now do not get me wrong, I did enjoy Garry's words, and sure he does not knock you down, but I think you get that eh ;)

Just a matter of interest now: 60 chord system? Okay which 60 chords, tell me, explain please. I think if you know the majors and minor of the 5 open chordshapes you know a lot! I just count them as FIVE, but really I am very interested in these SIXTY chords. Sure there must be some chords of love there :D

Ooohps Dragon, I just posted my ideas and then went to third page of this thread and saw...................well I knew, you were just having FUN with Numbers.......Well done!!! Numbers? Dragon, just a question out of interest, how many members are there on your site? That is in numbers please, Thanks :D

Eddie :)

............ and you guys gotta' here dragonworks perform.... IN PERSON... like I have for the past 4 years. Dragonworks knows his stuff! Trust me!

...carry on....................

Eddie :)

I am not dragon the owner of this site, I am dragonworks, just another member.

I am not sure what you mean by having fun with numbers or if you are even referring to my posts.
There are over a couple of thousand chords. All I was trying to show was how to build them. If you can follow my illogical post then you will be able to name the notes in just about any chord. They are not picked at random, there is a reason, and that is all I was trying to get across.

Timmerman - yes, many UK companies looking to expand onto the continent go to Holland first because our cultures are so similar. It always amuses me tho' how people from rural Holland want to disassociate themselves from Amsterdam ;)

Again, I thought DW's post was first class. Rick's gone quiet tho.....

Hey Timmerman, is your first language English?

Seriously, I cannot understand a damn thing you are saying.

You seem to be giving Rick a hard time. Why?
