This is, I warn you, basic. I'm sitting here with a Dell PIV, about 1 year old and do not know much about recording, etc.

Can I record a webcast? A streaming event? Onto the hard disk and thence to CD?

Also a larger question. How do I get my LPs and Cassettes onto CD?

yeah get something like totalrecorder at www.hitsquad.com/smm.

get yourself a wave editor and plug your cassettedeck/ lp-player to your computer. record, and burn to cd. more info? just browse this forum for help on chosing the right wave-editor etc.
