I think EVH should be#1.
Vai, Satriani and Malmsteen along with EVH should hold the top 4 slots. I have been playing guitar for 21years and I know first hand how difficult it is to play like them.

They are all great guitar players, but only 1 should be in the top 5. The guitar's range is just too broad to fill the top 5 with only shredders. It is equally difficult to play fingerstyle like Chet Atkins or Mark Knopler, or to chord like Joe Pass, or bebop like Tal Farlow, or classical like Andes Segovia, or... or.... or.....

i dissagree with that....EVH should hold a spot because he pioneered that style of playing and had a huge impact on rock and roll. but not the other 3...to me shred is like rap, it gets monotonus real quick
