I've pretty much given up on Strats. I never liked them. I just like the one I have. A 91 Mexican Fender Strat. It's like it was made for me. I had a USA Strat and hated it. Hated the Squire. Hated all the Strat copies I've had. I like my one lowly Mexican Strat and that's it.

Same here, Not a 91, but a 95 MiM strat that I got from my shitty Marshall MG amp I sold a last year. 200 cash and a guitar, I couldn't pass it up. Silly noobs :p

Really haven't played a fender I've liked other than this one and on rare occasions a random telecaster in a pawn shop or something.

I love teles. Almost all that I've played have sounded good to me. I like thin lines, broadcaster style, regular, p90s...teles are the best.

oh and since you have a 90's era MIM strat you can be a MIM brother too.

I sold ten of my guitars a few years ago. I have one acoustic (80s model Fender Gemini that sounds great after a bit of tweaking), and four electrics left.

1981 USA Fender Bullet (All original except for the tuners. Some idiot put Grovers on it.)
1976 Fender Telecaster Bass
1977 Fender Mustang (Looks new)
1978 Fender Telecaster Deluxe (My baby - Worn in quite a few spots.) Damn near plays itself as soon as it is plugged in. :)

The Tele Deluxe sounds great with the two old ass humbuckers, but the Bullet and the Mustang really give me that "Fender" sound.

I don't think much of a new "old" looking guitar. Buy yourself the best you can afford and wear it out yourself.

They look really cool! do you guys remember the Fender Jagstang that Cobain helped create. It was a mix of the Mustang and the Jaguar guitars.

Haha sweet.

I just feel like if I ever bought a tele, I'd ruin it in the eyes of everyone else and swap EMGs into it lol, a little John 5 inspired piece or something.

haha yeah that would ruin a tele.

i have another strat that i hated and put some p90s in and rewired/capped it and now it's rad...EMGs would have killed that too.

I played a Squire Strat that we rented 3 decades ago when they first came out. It was fabulous.

I'm thinking of flogging my American Tele to get a Classic Player Jaguar in sunburst.

Haha nice, I had a buddy of mine who did something "kind of" similar, ended up taking a MIM tele body he hated, bolted on and rigged up a epiphone sg neck, swapped the pickups, then painted in florescent blue and green with white and purple paint just thrown at it with a paint brush. Looked like an easter egg lol, and he called it his road whore. :laughings:

Sounded amazing though, I've contemplated making some sort of frankenstein guitar like that, I think I'd just spend way to much on it to make it look stupid and sound good :p
