There's always the N-track option, only $50 US legal and legit (that's legitimate, noisy! :D )...

D/L the trial version. It's crippled, but at least you can have a look-see.

Good luck noise, hope you get it all sorted out...
Hey, you aura is showing! :D

Noisedude, it doesn't matter if you get it fixed. If you post a mix Rokket is only going to listen to it on cheap pc speakers. :D

Well, I suppose you would "bury" the guitars in the mix...

har har har har

Okay Ed, I'm gonna ask, what the hell does it mean?
Explain yourself young-man!!!

Noise your only way forward is to forget 98. It's a false prophet. Get your XP issues sorted. Think of the music

I'll look N-Track up ... dammit! I was so happy with Tracktion!:mad::mad:
Did you try the demo? I'd be very interested to hear what you think of it, especially were you to buy the full version 4.0.4..

Bulls - I hear you ... but XP don't come cheap - it's another £100 even on OEM!

Cellardywell - I'm gonna check out the demo.

noisedude......I feel your pain. I'm stuck using Win2000 pro. 'cause WP Por is soooooooo much $$$$$!

Who wants to hear some good news?

You don't get if you don't ask!

That is SUCH a loaded question, but I'm going to be SOOO nice and suppress my sarcastic nature

...grr..arrghhh...ahhhhhhh(*wrestling with self*)

OKAY!
What's the good news???

So my dad also has issues with pirated software cos he's a magistrate and he likes laws and stuff. My folks don't have a lot of money, but I have even less.

"Dad, my legal software doesn't work with my legal Windows 98 so I'm going to have to borrow your copy of XP and crack it with a keygen."
"Errrr ... well, perhaps we should buy you a legal copy."

I love my parents a lot. Seriously. But right now I'm loving my dad in particular even more than usual :D

Thats what rents are for :)

Dont want to make you question yourself in anyway, but doesnt the "If it aint broke, dont fix it" saying apply here? If windows 98 works, then why upgrade? To be honest, i use a mac so i dont know what the full advantages are from switching from 98 to xp...but thought i would share my view...I apologise if its stupid :)

Peace

But it ain't working! This may be the easiest way to fix it in the longer term.

Ah right, well fair enough, go for it then, i just mis read it... like usual! I share your problem, my set up wont work, dont know the problem though, your fortunate to know that its the OS i suppose. y'see...Theres always a very small silver lining :)

Well ... it's not the OS, it's just that my legal software doesn't work so I need a legal OS that it will work with, rather than cracking one to get it working, or going back to cracked recording software.

Maybe he wants to get you a legal copy of Cubase? :D
You know, Tracktion's fine for me right now. A newer Cubase is coming at some point before the summer I think, but VST 5.0 is a cantankerous beast whereas Tracktion is all on one screen.

Pro Tools Free .... doesn't that have an eight track limit? What do you record after you've done your drums then?
