The Eq Setting For Drum !!!

HEY LET"S Share the information.....

Bass Drum: boost- 67hz, 3.5K hz
cutoff- 50hz and below, 300hz
Snare: boost- 125hz, 5K hz
cutoff- 400 hz, 100hz and below
Tom: Boost- 2K hz
cutoff- 400hz, sometimes 100hz below
High hat and crash: Boost- 3k~10K(try different from snare and bass) to isolate the HH frequency away from the mess....
Cut off: 350hz
Ride: Boost: 10Khz and 350hz(denepends on ride's tune)
cut off: 200hz and below...

GUYS : D .....what's ur suggestion

Almost all the drums get a little dip around 300-350hz. I prefer a boost around 100-150 for the kick. The bass guitar lives around 60-80 for me so I try to keep them separate as much as possible.

Thanks for starting this thread Fakeness....I've just started mixing my first drum project at home, so I could use any tips people can give!

I suggest you forget frequency charts and use your ears!

Also note that contrary to your "guide" - it's preferable to cut frequencies you don't want, rather than trying to boost the ones you want to emphasize.......
 
Blue Bear, I just read your signature. I love that skit. It's the best SNL skit next to the Jimmy Fantango's Ride the Snake.
