Danny,
1stly it's a bummer you don't have your stuff on a site that streams rather than requiring download. Lots more people would listen is it was quick, easy & capable of being shut off early on if it's not enjoyed.
NOW to the music.
Nice playing, nice composition & pretty good recording,
BUT,
I really missed the textures of the intro keys when the keyboard comes back in later in the song.
After such an intro the other keys sound thin and give the impression that the intro is an excellent yet tacked on bit as there's no textural/sonic relationship with the rest of the piece.

Thanks, ray. I edited with a link to the streamed versions.

The intro is a layered string ensemble (synth), and the other is a synth pad, so that's why they don't sound the same. ;)

I may try replacing the pad with the strings and maybe that will give a more consistant feel to the song.

Thanks for the comments. :)

Sorry, I had removed it because I just recently updated it. Tried to get it as loud as possible (without compression/limiting)...

Anyway, here are the new links...for some reason it won't let me edit my original post again.

I enjoy this. Like rayc mentioned, the second section of keys seems thin and not nearly as warm as the intro. It also seems that when the piano comes in, the timing is a bit odd. Not exactly off, but it seems like it when it comes in. I like the progression, it doesn't get boring or tiresome to listen to. Good job with this.

Thanks. :)

Yea, there is a slight timing issue on the first chord of the piano section. The first chord is an arpeggio and that makes it sound kind of off. I may have to retrack it. :(

I'm glad you liked it though. :)

i agree with most of what's been said. the timing issue etc. but it's a good tune.
nicely done.

Thanks, Nicole.

I'll probably have to retrack the rhythm guitars and possibly the piano too. :(

The timing issues are standing out a lot more than when I first started mixing it.

Ok - this new link worked ok.....

Listening as I type.....

- the intro synth is bold, maybe a tad much, I would bring it down a db or 2....just my preference.....
- the second synth after the initial guitar and before the piano seems smoother in the mix....
- the piano has a rather interesting tone to it, quite acoustic....
- the guitar is perfect just the way you've recorded it....

Overall I like the tune a lot!

:) :D :) :D
