YES! Clean the threads! I'll be lucky if I can fer my Furman out of my current rack withought having to drill. You'll want to buy a tap for that, if I remember correctly, they are metric. M5 .8 pitch, but CHECK FIRST!!! MAKE SURE I AM RIGHT!!! You can buy a tap at any hardware store.

i had one of those eight space free standing units, they arent too bad, and can handle quite a lot of wieght... but now i've built my own with my mixer mounted on top... the only way to get exactly wehat you want is to build it yourself... damn inexpensive. cost me equivilant to about $20usd

goddamn... i need some shop that ships to europe... crap...

custom build is best and cheapest I've found. for my studio I built one that holds about 6 units. I built it out of 1x2 and 1/4 inch plywood I had lying around the house. total cost $0.00 And who doesn't have a can of black spray paint on a shelf in the garage? I'm currently planning a moble box for the road so that everything stays prewired. A place and play arrangement. Place the amp and effects box down. power up and play! No hook up or tear down! neat and clean...

That's what a friend of mine did when I was playing with him. Everything is self contained. You just hook up power and the speaker cables and you're ready to boogie.

jasgav - I'm about to do the same.

A few months ago a guy who did alot of roadie-ing pointed out that home made rack cases tended to break a lot, so the issue is making it strong enough without being too heavy.
