Great job macale...

Great song bro!

I heard this over at Anderton's forum...loved it then, loved hearing again!

Peace,

The last Pop song that actually got me as excited and in general happy was probably Oasis' Wonderwall. Granted they are ridiculously, well ridiculous people (the Gallaghers anyways) but what can I say it was a good pop tune. Before that was some of Radioheads earlier stuff and just young Britpop in general: Stone Roses, Blur, etc., and the only other pop (not just rock-pop) I really like is from the 60's. Again I LOVED that song.

I'm confused - is that a good thing? I always hear people talk about how, "man i hate pop music", or in this case...you like 2-3 mainstream songs any genre period in the past 40 years? when were you born? heh.

Personally i would kick my own ass if i had such a limited appreciation or...hell...ENJOYMENT out of music. Probably at least 2-3 singles per month that make me "happy" give me that "buzz" if you will ;) not saying its important music..but just saying maybe if music pisses you off more than helps you - you should move on? heh.

just a pet peave of mine i guess. wasn't sure how to take your statement. I happen to know a lot of people who say "i hate all music...i hate anything anyone has ever heard of dude..yeah...radiohead was good like the first month they formed...but...after that mini ep that 3 people had..they just got too big for me.." And they are BRAGGING about this elitism. <sigh>

I know i know, useless post as usual.

Yeah wes, I figured somebody would chime in with their disdain for my post. I was born in '81 and don't feel as though there has been much in the way of good Pop since, which is obviously purely my opinion. I understand how you could associate me with such pompous dorks as you refferred (I know a few myself) but really I'm no such dude. PLEASE don't suggest that I "move on" from music because it's my life, love, passion, etc. Just because I don't get excited about shit I hear on the radio, which I really rarely listen to, doesn't mean that I'm not thoroughly excited about another fresh tune that may never get radio play or be considered pop. The post kinda embellished my feelings towards Pop only to express how much I really liked Macle's song, sorry if I came of as a self righteous prick, I'm really not one.

cool man, glad to hear it. Like i said..that post wasn't really directed at you - becuase I felt what you were saying. Just something I had on my mind, letting off a little steam. rock on.

La - Ever listen to the strokes? I looooove 60's and 70's music...and definately feel there is a lack of good stuff today (like i said, just becuase I dig it on the radio..doesn't make it important). But, "Is This It?" is a pretty awesome album. If you havn't listened to it - you might want to check it out. Very raw feel, etc.

I'm here late and um.......I'm pretty much speechless......it jumped out of my speakers....um.......Fantastic dude, BRAVO!

Macle, could you elaborate a bit more on your recording method and gear? I mean production like that is obviously more "know how" than just gear but I'm just curious anyway?

any info at all would be good

thanks

Not that you need anymore positive feedback : ) , but All About You is definitely my favorite. On that track as well as Despair, the vocals seem low. But what the hell do I know?

Thanks for sharing!

dachay2tnr-Thanks very much for the compliments about the arrangement and stuff! As far as the mix being cloudy, hmmm, I don't know now....hmmm....mixmkr talked about the lack of "sheen", too, so maybe getting a pro to remix everything before the thought of making a CD is a good idea. Thanks a lot for checking out the song!

Hard2Hear-Hey, how are you!?! Glad the download worked this time! :) Man, thanks a lot!!! V2, shite! Well, that is really really cool! I've got your email, and like I said to zip and tubedude, as soon as we finish, we'll start dealing with this kinda stuff. We definitely want to get a manager, cuz I've found speaking to biz people is like speaking to aliens (but, maybe it's me!) Thanks very very much!

pAp-Thank you! The signal chain is Averill API to Distressor to Paris, except on the keyboard stuff. Those are just audio captures from Gigasampler. Glad you like the ending bit, I really like it, too! A heap of money would be cool! Thanks a lot!

Laj-wow, I'm glad you finally decided to download! I really dig Britpop and Oasis, etc., and, well, thanks, really too much. (I like Noel and Liam, btw, I think they're pretty funny, like The Jesus Twins! :D ) Really appreciate your checking out the tune, and really glad you like it.

Scott-Thanks again! (Btw, I think this is a much better place, that one thread over there is a bit of a mess, too confusing.)

wes and laj-glad you worked that out! I think The Strokes are cool, btw. I just read somewhere, that there's some band called Diffrent Strokes, and they do all Strokes songs on Casio keyboards! Hey Wes, did you get that email with the So Long chords, wasn't sure if that went through.

:)

nave-thank you! I think the gear makes a big difference, but, also, I think, for me, it's more in the song and the arrangement, then in the engineering, cuz I don't really do much in the way of engineering! When I do a vocal, or whatever, I just set the mic up in front of the computer, and that's it. All EQing and stuff, I'm not very good at, so I try to do it as little as possible. I used to EQ like crazy, and spend hours and days micing drums, and looking for sweet spots and stuff (and I think that I probably learned from doing that), but now I just concentrate more on the song and arrangement. Thanks again!!

gmiller1122-Thanks! A few people like All About You best, that's cool! Just out of curiousity, what is it about that one? Anything in particular? The funny thing about that one, is I sang it at first, and the arrangement was sort of different, and I wasn't liking it at all, and wanted to dump it, but my girlfriend liked it, she thought the lyrics were funny, so she wanted to do it, so then I tried changing the arrangement and the bassline and stuff, and tried to make it a little more Beatley, with a little James Bond (thought that went with the big ego lyric idea) in there, too. Anyway, glad you like it! As far as too much positive feedback, I don't think that's possible! :D

Macle - Yes I did get that e-mail and i *really* appreciate it. Like everytime I sit down to play now I run through that once becuase it works my range a bit...and I adore your girls harmonies. Great stuff. I meant to reply to that e-mail - my bad!

As far as the different strokes - I have been dying to find those mp3s! hehe. I would like to hear it...but, they havn't surfaced on Morpheus yet...for me.

hmm, i really dig all about you - but I hear it as a dance/disco song. I actually thought it was the least beatlesy of them all. It reminds me of "I will survive" - got that grooving bass line..the nice funk guitar...etc. If I was a DJ I'd spin it :)

Hey wes, haven't checked out the strokes though I should have by now. I'm a huuuuuge Radiohead fan, especially the bends and they always have only good things to say about the strokes. I've kinda traveled with them (RH) away from guitar rock and would love to get swept off my feet by a good old r&r album as it's been a WHILE, so thanks for the tip. Sorry to kinda veer off the praises macle, btw I've listened to your tunes almost non stop for the last couple o' days, let us know when the LP is out so we can pick it up!

I'm a little late in this post.

Awesome tune.
I'm keeping it in my archive and will show all my friends and relatives.
Yet another soon to be star is in our midst.
Congratulations.
You've got a fan in me.

You've got a fan in me....

You've got a fan in me....

When the road looks rough ahead...

...and you're miles and miles from your nice warm bed...

Just remember what your old pal said...

Wha.....???

That's "friend"?!?

.......It's already a song????

I thought I was on to sumpin'........................

What can I say

Damm, You are good.

I Listened to 'The Buzz is over', really enjoyed it. Keep at it, I have a feeling I will hear alot more of you. One thing though, try to add a bit more of you own style. You have good songs, its just a bit to like the beatles, i think its the vocal style.

This has got to be...

...the longest review thread ever!

...and a damn good review it is...

JOKE!!!

I like this song even better!

Macle- I hope you are not old, ugly, or bitter.
Because I would like t see you hit the big time with your stuff.

If it is ever possible, I would like to collaborate with you someday before you say "HomeRec.com? I don't talk to those losers"..:D

Oh! Well, I tried to sneak some Beatleyness in there, anyway! :) Funny, how things turn out sometimes. Glad you like it, though!

laj35-Thanks again, I'll let you know for sure!

Tristan-Thanks very much, you're too kind! Hope your friends and relatives like it (in fact, I'd be kinda curious to know what regular people think, that is, people who aren't musicians or engineers. :) ) Thanks again!!

psneddon-jeez, thanks a lot! I do like The Beatles probably too much, but sometimes I can't help it! :)

zip-it's really too much. I can't tell you guys how cool it is to get such a great reaction!! It really means a lot to me, and my girlfriend, too! All I can say is thanks!

VillageIdiot-Alright! Glad you like Joke! It's great that people have different songs they like best. Old, ugly, and bitter!?! Now I'm gonna *have* to put up a picture!  :) Thanks a lot, really appreciate it! Internet collaborating could be cool in the future, but right now, I'm working like crazy to finish the rest of these songs! (I've got another one nearly finished, and I was gonna post it, but I imagine some people are getting sick of me! I know Kelly is :(, sorry Kelly, I'm still breathing! :D )

hey cool dude

hey mac thanks a lot for the pictures. thats a big inspiration to me as my room is about the same junkyard! (no offense! heh).

About the drumset - I have one similar, if not the same...its the YD Series - did you cut that whole in the bass head yourself, or fif it come like that? I need to cut one in mine I think, I hate the bass sound I am getting.

I'd like to hear how your dry drum tracks sound....as it doesn't look like you have much 'treatment' going on room wise - I am in the same position.

gonna listen to hardcore later today
