Thanks dude. I think I agree on the bass, I'll play with it some when I get a chance.

I love popping in here and seeing a thread with your name on it. I'm a fan of T.L. too... I've read that their live recordings were pretty highly edited, but it doesn't change anything for me...they're so impressive to listen to.

Yeah, the vocals are definitely too hot in the upper mids... Really the only recording I've ever heard from you that started giving me ear fatigue. It may be something shrill on the reverb, I can't be sure...It may be in the guitars too, so maybe just a wide gentle scoop between 2-5k? Maybe? hell, I dunno'.

You rock.

joeydego - Ihanks, I think. ;)

ChrisHarris - Thanks a lot man. I appreciate the input. I'll definitely give the vocals some more work. I used a different kind of reverb than I usually do, so maybe thats where the problem lies. I'll check it out. Thanks again. :)

i'm away from home listening on some shit little computer speakers but it sounds great all the same. good job. now where's that greased lightning cover?

Very impressive! I don't visit this forum much, but I'm glad I did this time. I love covers! I don't have a problem with anything on this version...I think you did a great job. I'll have to go search and find some of your other things that everyone's raving about. Good job!

Nice sounds man...guitar tone is really cool. Good job on the vocals also...overall sound is cool. Nice man....

Thanks a lot guys. :)

warrengtype - Thanks. I haven't started Greased Lightning yet, but I'm gonna pretty soon. ;)

Dave - Thanks dude. :)

RickW - Thanks man. Check my sig. Thats a link to my main soundclick page. It's cover city there.

Dogman - Thanks bro. I appreciate the feedback. :)

After taking the comments into consideration and listening with fresher ears, I addressed some of the concerns about the bright vocals and bass. Hopefully I didn't over-do it. Check this new mix if you don't mind:

I just shaved a little off the high-end of the vocals and the guitar licks and thumped up the bass just a hair.

Very good greg.

The whole recording has got a great sound to it.

The preformance is solid I`ve got nothing left to add but;

Top Notch!

Maybe it's just because 14 hours have gone by, or maybe it's because it actually sounds better, but it really sounds great to me now man.

Greg,
A brilliant tune done wonderfully well. The bass needs some definition in the runs for the 1st minute - after that they seem fine.
Have you heard Nick Low's pastiche "So It Goes" ? It's almost a fab as the Lizzy's themselves.
Do you play live? - your selections are 100% party rock n roll - the songs almost all guitar boys fantasize about playing.

Nakatira - Thank you very much! :)

ChrisHarris - Thanks for listening again. I agree it sounds better now. :)

RayC - Thanks a lot. I'm not too familiar with the majority of Nick Lowes stuff, but I do know "So it Goes" pretty well. It's on the Ramones "Rock and Roll High School" soundtrack. I do play live, but not any covers. I play drums in an original-material punk/metal band called "Asphalt Junkie" here in Houston. We play no covers. Maybe thats why I'm so hellbent on doing them on my own. People close to me are always telling me that I should start up a cover band and just play bars and make some cash. ;)

I thought it sounded fine.

................. ;)

ASPHALT JUNKIE KICK ASS!!!!

I just Checked you out on myspace... kickass stuff. Did you record the stuff on myspace? Sounds Badass

Lol. Thanks man. Yeah I recorded all that. It's a fun band to play in. We have a pretty big sound for a 3-piece, but we're looking to add another guitar to really blow people away. :D

Kick-ass song to cover. Nice playing on everything. Keep banging em out man. :D

I've been recording for a little over a year... I actually never even thought of computer-recording until I opened my presents from my wife that Christmas. I was staring at a Tascam US-122 and I had no clue what it was. She installed all the stuff onto the computer, showed me where to hit record...

I hope you appreciate the natural ability you have at playing and production.

I just left the following email to ya'll on your myspace page.

"our music shakes and shudders over in the corner and begs for mercy after listening to yours."

Pretty honest, lol.
